As Arsenal fan this was a simple performance, we played to their weakness, Spurs play one style of football, the high-line and being dominant, let them have the ball, stop them from scoring and you know they can’t defend set-pieces. All that matters is the 3 Points, you win trophies by accumulating points not beautiful football only.

I’ll for me I thought spurs looked more likely to score for the first hour. Goal goes in from a set piece. Changed the flow of the game but they never looked out of it imo. Considering arsenal are the favourites to challenge city this year, I don’t think spurs fans can be too upset. They know they are a fair bit behind gunners at present like the rest of the league, losing by 1 goal really isn’t the worst result..

You can tell Jordan isnt a football perosn calling that a borefest. Wasn't it ultra entertaining like past NLDs? No. But far from a borefest. At the time of Gabriels goal, both teams had almost the same shots and xG. Lots of tackles and half chances, once Arsenal got ahead then they slapped their chests and said to Spurs, 'Ok now what you got'. The answer, nothing. Arsenal knew they had them, so why really go for the second.

The main point going in to this game was Arsenal didnt have Odegaard and Rice. These are big, big players for Arsenal and automatic starters due to how good they are. We also didnt have depth in players like Merino (granted he has only just come in, but probably would have started due to the absence of Rice), Calafiori, Zinchenko (not the best defensively, but could have come in to replace Odegaards technical play) and Tomiyasu. You add these to not having Odegaard and Rice....that is a lot of lost experience on the pitch and potential to on from the bench.

Arteta was our most boring player ever. Even when he became captain fans could not understand why. Arteta does not know about the creative game which is why we have an appauling record in Europe,and just like last season the signs are there to be seen we only have a one dimensional way of playing the game which will bite us at when it matters.

they had the hardest start to the season,played aston villa away and spurs away in there first 4 games and would have been on 12 points with city if they didn't get a red card last week,u can hate them but u got to respect the effort they putting in atleast trying to compete with city even though they got like 7 injuries aswell

@@ga222-g1k fair enough. I don't think spurs are a poor side, they have a decent first 11 and they just missed out on top 4 last season. It's just that they have only 1 way of playing and when they have a manager that can't adapt teams will find them out. Every single team knows how to beat spurs, let them have the ball and then hit them on the break or most likely a set piece. It was a significant win for arsenal not because of the result, they have won at the Tottenham stadium in this fixture more than Tottenham have (Haha) but more because of the key players missing.

For spectators it’s about being entertained… for the teams who are on the pitch it’s about 3 points. If the team wins, the fans are happy - regardless of the way victory is achieved. For Arsenal to play champagne football they were missing their orchestrating players. So you can understand how they would be tweaking their tactics to play against a possession happy spurs. Ultimately 3 points is what matters
