Here’s a novel idea: why don’t we all give Pep a little praise for this. He’s get plenty of criticism when deserved and sometimes when not, but if we can criticize him, can we not praise him too? I'd also add, that when City win the league each season (and he did this the first time he won the PL) he brought the whole City staff into the caf while he and the players clapped the staff as Pep heaped praise on them saying they could not have won this title without them. Now it might seem silly to some, but if you put your tribalism aside for a minute, you'll see that what he is doing is recognizing the staff for their contributions to the 'cause.' This is something Pep does when City win titles, so it may not have the same meaning it did the first time, but in any work environment, recognition for hard work and performance is a great thing as I am sure we have all experienced it and likely experienced the inverse as well Still, people will want to slag him off for it which is absurd. Normally, criticism comes from some form of comparison, well, how has Pep fallen short here? What managers have done anything like this, let alone, beyond it?

@ JimDuggan-tq2lv Both of you have just told me that you’ve never received a bonus of any type from a company or you don’t have a job to even know the difference. Any earnings you make in a limited company has to be declared to hmrc tax office. So they can calculate the amount of tax you are due to pay annually. So if you earn 30 grand a year and receive a bonus of 10 grand you don’t get that tax free 😂 you’ll pay the 20% threshold on the whole amount. The only way Pep could give them 10 grand each for free would be to withdraw 700 grand in cash and hand it out equally. Then he would have to cover the tax on that 700 grand in earning himself. What he is doing is only good because he doesn’t have to do it. However it’s the equivalent of me buying my staff £200 worth of pizza at the Xmas party. It’s not life changing what he is doing once the 10 grand has been taxed.
@JimDuggan-tq2lv
@JimDuggan-tq2lv 17 дней назад
@@HdHd-hp6qz "Any earnings you make in a limited company has to be declared to hmrc tax office" The money was a gift, Pep isn't their boss paying their wages, he gifted them money, which is tax free. Therefore, you don't have a clue. Cheers for assuming that we don't have a job or have never received a bonus, shame you're an idiot who doesn't understand the difference between money earned and gifts from people.

I would usually just say that Pep gets paid via overseas accounts--which he most likely does--but giving 10k to 70 people, some who probably take 6 or 7 months to make that, is a huge gesture. Personally, I have always thought that giving money to people is much better than giving money to charities, most of which spend more money on salaries and their employees than they do on the actual cause they're supposed to be championing.
