I agree with Simon on this.. No one is forcing anyone to play games. If you don't want to play then don't. Go to your employer and say you are tired and don't want to play. They sue you for breaching your contract, or tear it up or cut your wages.. it's up to their employers. And with national games.. they are not forced to play there too.. they are not employed by their national teams. They vonlunteer.. If one is called up by the national team manager, all they have to say is "No, I'm exhausted.. I won't play for the national team this tournament" .. Simple. And you deal with the fallout. Thats it

Simple solution… contractually ill play up to 38 league games ( that’s ruling out potential end of season overseas match ) 13 Champions league matches ( that rules out two games in the new format ) and 6 domestic cup matches ( And that rules out the League Cup ) 57 matches per season )

SImon Jordan nails it. Prepare/Customize your contract when you join/renew for X number of games in a season and agree to the remuneration accordingly. Clubs and football federations are ALSO a business and with the amount of money involved with globalization and popularity, its inevitable the number of games will increase. The way incentives are aligned, the way commercial interests will align themselves and decisions will be taken. It's upto the players to negotiate their clubs/federations how to strike that balance.

I’m all for players having less games, as long as they’re taking a pay cut then for playing less? No problem with it. If I wanna work less hours in my job, I’m gonna expect a reduction too? I was working 7 days a week at one point over 60 to 70 hours at times and of course the money was good but I start feeling my body aching and I have to beg for them to find someone else because I was doing a two man job, now they found someone else do I expect to continue earning the same amount? 😕 Let Common Sense prevail!

World cup grown from 32 to 48 teams. Euros 16 to 32 teams. World club cup now has 32 teams. There is no room in calendar. Players need at least 4 weeks a year off with no football. For recovery of injuries and mentally refresh. Otherwise football quality will just get worse

I dont mind more games and have no sympathy for the players. For me, its football i watch, and i can see the quality of games being decreased. The whole euros was prime example of it, and in later halfs of the season we can see many games that are sluggish. Even my forcing regulation to limit players to certain no of games, the result of fresher players for high intensity matches is ultimately good for the entertainment sport. Also, does this channel disagrees and is negative on EVERYTHING

Its not even an issue of how many games, I'm sure most would rather play more games over a season than training, its the fact that every ounce of off season that these players have to let their bodies recover is getting taken away. 3 summers out of 4 with tournaments now for the top players. When are they supposed to recover, see their families, let their hair down a bit, cos we all jump on them when they do that during the season or when they become injury prone. Its not about money, its about health and welfare!
