Motorsport Ireland deeply regrets that competitor Simon McKinley of Naul, County Meath, has passed away following injuries received in a tragic accident that occurred at the Clare Motor Club Hillclimb today Saturday 25th April 2015. As a mark of respect the organisers, Clare Motor Club, have cancelled the remainder of the event. Motorsport Ireland and Clare Motor Club extend their heartfelt sympathy to Simon’s family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this very sad time.
Absolute masterclass in how to drive an Escort! Simon, if you'd driven a works WRC car, you'd have been Champion more times than Sain.z, Loeb and the best of the rest. R.I.P & keep it sideways on Heaven 's stages. And, there's NO sight or sound better than an Escort at full chat!
I'm going to put perspective on this ...I'm 31 (1985) never driven one ...been told about the fun ...now I can't even buy a house never mind this cheaper ish bag of fun
