You are absolutely right, Simon. Animals are not here for our amusement. We have NO right to cage them or to destroy their habitats. Keep up the good work, Simon - you are doing and saying the right things...............and I am sure that the animals agree with me.

You shouldn't have to apologize for your legitimate and educated opinions.

I wholeheartedly agree, but in my opinion this applies to all animals: as humans we can't enslave any other living being, not even for mass produced meat products. I'm not trying to that guy that says eat vegetarian or vegan, but as human rights apply to all humans, animal right apply to all animals. Still, wildlife aid is a gem that I hope never disappears! Papa bless

I do agree that many animal are better off free in the wild. however in some cases it is necessary to breed them within sanctuaries or they may become extinct. also it aids in our education about the spices and their habitats so we may lengthen their survival.

I don't agree the way that zoos treat the animals. I've seen animals in the wild. I've seen wild horses in their own habitat. It's amazing.

Mm im crying... I love working for my local wildlife recuse. This lady devoted her life to Texas wild life, mainly bobcats, and she pushes so hard to get these animals back home and it is amazing to see the bobcats go home. I hate how ignorant humans are, they see something they like and they just take it like the greedy money hungry bastards they are!

You are absolutely correct. If you want to see wild animals, pay to see them where they live naturally. Eco-tourism helps fund conservation.

It is those who lock these animals up who should be sorry. Simon thank you for all you do to bring awareness. People need to see and hear the truth, and that is what you do.

It's not wrong to have an opinion, it is wrong to expect or force that opinion of others.

simon, how do you feel about things like dogs ad cats as pets? I love your work and want to be like you when I grow up.

Dogs and cats(cats as in kittens, not relative to cheetahs, jaguars, tigers, etc that are babies; those are wild) are the most known domestic kinds of animals. Domestic is synonym to having a relationship and connection with humans and it seems that dogs and cats are far better off that way if they want and shouldn't be forced back into the wild because their ending can be catastrophic. Dogs and cats love being with humans and are very well known to build and enjoy relationship with people; therefore, it doesn't hurt to have them, go with them for walks and spend time with them. I don't think if you have a pet, that you should release to the wild because that pet became adapt to you and you wouldn't trust that pet running into the wild as it became domesticated and run into another person who may not be very kind and not know how to care for it.

You're so right Simon. Animals should not be cages for our amusement, whether it's animals in zoos, safari parks, marine parks, or even exotic pets at home. Wild animals belong in the wild. The world should be putting more money and effort into maintaining wild animals natural habitats, and less on zoos as a means of conservation.

When u see animals in zoos that act more like pets then wild animals in creates the i dea of awww I want one and helps the cycle of poaching and back yard breeding

The majority of zoos in australia are extremely good at caring for animals in as close to natural environment as possible. No bars, except perhaps to stop birds flying away

Heaven forbid a bird would have the audacity to even consider flying away

Zoos are partly there because it prevents poachers and other kinds of hunters from killing these animals. In these animal's natural habitats, people tend to be live in places where there's is lack of development. Many of these people may even depend on killing these animals for his/her next meal. Along with that, deforestation removes what these animals once called home. Some endangered animals such as the black rhino, African elephant, and apes may soon be unable to live in their habitats. So, what I think is that if human civilization carelessly builds over these species. Captive breed may be our only solution to prevent them from becoming extinct. With that being said, why should NOT take these animals out of their habitats and into zoos. This would only make things worse.

Well unless the wild population is so low that the only hope is to engage in intensive breeding programs. Like with the Lord How Stick Insect.

Zoos should be banned. There is no reason to keep wild animals caged for our amusement. Animals should only be caged if they absolutely cannot go back to the wild due to an illness or injury, and should receive the best care possible.

This is what I call a true animal lover instead of those who try to humanize wild animals because it's so damn cute. If you have taken your child to visit a zoo or you have gone to another country to visit their zoos, you are part of the problem. Wildlife belongs in the wild.
