Interesting that the nuclear capability is given as a deterrent against invasion, whereas when Iran wants it (against US aggression as in Iraq/Afghanistan/Vietnam/Panama/etc., etc.), it's not a valid reason.

A guy that was former head of the KGB sees himself in a messianic role? What power did Hitler have that was lost by the breakup of German's empire? Oh, that Austro-Hungarian of which Germany was a portion. And this man's a historian? Stick to the facts and avoid comparisons. Have the problem solvers focus on present day problems. Why not compare him (if you must) to the English kings seeing their empire dwindle? But your host might not appreciate that.
