She did make valid points, but none of them needed to be pointed out. From the jump, she molded Simone to want to be in the group, with the motive of getting her life going somewhere, but whether or not that was a priority has yet to be seen. Simone was always tryna make Star happy, Carlotta happy, Mary happy. She did make plenty of sacrifices. She risked getting sent back to foster care, prison time (if she'd killed Otis) and more. They both made valid points. But Star didn't have to make a point on anything about Simone.

Simone was only intoxicated for like 3 shows. And she used to always stick up for Star, but it started getting to the point that Star was always doing something. If someone is constantly in the wrong you can't keep choosing their side. And then on top of that Star made a DISS TRACK ON HER. Talking about her marriage was a low blow. And Simone said she was gonna quit once, because Alex and Star kept arguing over fame, so if you think about it, Simone is committed. She is loyal to TAKE 3, she never cared about the fame or fortune like STAR, and she didn't let jealousy get to her head.

Big difference. Alex didn't start out doing solo stuff for her own self-interest or advancement. Star started doing solo stuff because she got in her feelings and wanted to pull one over on Alex.
I mean I get both sides of their argument. Simone never really wanted to be a singer or be famous, that was Star's dream and she stuck it out for her even though her heart was never in it and she had personal problems of her own. Star has done a lot for Simone, like finding her after being separated, stabbing Otis, getting her out of foster care. Simone always self-sabotages when things get hard like taking drugs, going to juvie, running away. Star's ego gets in the way of her relationships that's why she and the girls are always arguing and why even though she had feelings for Noah first, she never told him and moved on to Alex.
I love Simone and all but I'm a little confused as to what "sacrifices" she's made for the group, like....? And why is Alex's name in the title? She isn't a part of this argument, she chillin.
@Gia For sure, she did music for Star at first and came to want it later. But she’s the flakiest one out of the group to me. Her main goal in life is to be happy, and there’s absolutely no issue with that, but compared to Alex and Star, her (the group’s) career wasn’t as prioritized. Until season 3, that is. Now, putting aside her mental wellness for the music? I sort of see that. But ultimately, her drive was barely there up until the recent season. Not saying no effort was given, but fame wasn’t her focus like it was for Alex and Star, so she did the least for it compared to them. And honestly, I was just irked with how Star was constantly made out to be the bad guy, and the hostility Simone gave her in late season 2 and early season 3 wasn’t warranted. I really wasn’t feeling her (still don’t when I go back to rewatch).
Honestly them downplaying and invalidating Star's feelings over bring harrassed online really says alot about how much they care about her. . Star would've gone after anyone who badmouthed Simone or Alex. No questions asked.

Honestly, both Simone and Star have done their dirt. Alex has always been the one mainly focused on the group (although she’s had her moments too). Keep in mind though, Simone initially had no desire to be in a group and Star constantly wanted Simone to push down the things she was going through in order to channel all their energy into “their dream”.
If you ask me, Simone wanted to go to a university and live a quiet life, but Star is such a narcissist and made Simone follow her lead. That really bugged me.

I agree Star is getting her payback and I think she knows that and we saw at the end of season 2 she regretted her choice. Thats why I think this season she the one is focused on her baby while Simone is now focused on the music and career aspect.

@Fatime K Right or wrong, that’s her sister. Her blood related family who almost killed a man for her and constantly fought for her. Star may not always be right, but even when she isn’t, you don’t hop on the hate-train. You can be real and tell your family when they’re in the wrong while still having their back against outside forces.

Personally, I feel like Simone was childish and gravely misunderstood her sister until the middle of season 3 rolled around and she got a taste of what it would be like without her. She build the group , she protected the people she cares about she Stood by Simone in season one when jahil tried to get star go solo . But no she wanted her sister by her side . But everyone wants to hate star because she isn’t sweet or let people walk all over her . She has a goal and she is ambitious she isn’t going to stay down for anyone . She reeeeeally is. Alex should be front and center. I feel vocally, Tori Kelly would have made a better Star. Jude Demorest/Star can sing, but she can't blow the way she was originally hyped up to be.
Simone loves to play the victim. If something doesn't go her way she tries to run off, she gets so defensive. Star doesn't know how to shut up and is always in her feelings. Alex is bit of a hypocrite for the whole solo career thing but other than that she's okay so far, but she needs to be more vocal about her feelings.
Everyone has that character that they love to hate. But I have none in this show. Star is my favorite, because she's real. Everyone wants to talk about Star being selfish, wanting the spotlight to be on her, and then the diss track. Star was a diva in season 1, yeah she can be selfish and ornery, but later in season 2 she was literally fighting for the group. It didn't matter who's vocals got pushed to the front anymore as long as the group was in this to win. Alex and Noah's situation wasn't forced, Alex wanted to milk it for what it was worth and it ended up causing friction with Star secretly being with Noah. Then when things got harder she went to Ayanna and wanted out (like that was going to happen). At first it was relationship drama, Star wanting to be with Noah. Star's not that great with expressing her feelings if you haven't seen in her past relationship. And when Star told Alex about it it was a choice to be made, Noah decided on Alex and Star tried to accept it despite feeling a certain way. Once Alex was being pushed out more and going on jobs outside of take 3 it did seem like a chance that take 3 would be left in the dust for her to focus on her solo career. Then when Star filled in for her, because she didn't know if she'd make it out from the dressing room in for her and Noah's performance she reacted by slapping Star (who literally kept checking and waiting to see if she'd come out in time). Then Alex who's mad that Star performed in her place talks to the paparazzi about her solo album which sets Star off, because now it seems like it's true, Alex is moving on and take 3 will dissolve. So Maurice tried to run at Star again, she's livid and tired of putting in work for group performances that aren't happening, so she vents in the booth and creates THE DISS TRACK. She was angry, she was going to let it drop, but after talking with Alex and Simone and reaffirming things she told Maurice to chop the track basically. Then when it gets released everyone is mad at Star who explains that it wasn't supposed to be released, that she was angry, venting. Alex who's usually the level headed one decided to react by pushing her, so Star being Star hits her and she gets hit back. I didn't get the fallout from the diss track at all, because that track was facts, everything Star said was true. I feel that Alex was mainly mad, because she knew the lyrics were true and she was partly mad at herself for some of her choices(Derrick and Noah) as well as dealing with Noah's alcoholism and having to dump him, because her mom is an alcoholic(whom she had to take care of during her childhood and adolescence). I thought the scene where she broke up with him sort of mirrored the one where Star's pushing Noah out of the salon after he walks in high, she tells him that she doesn't deal with dudes that are on drugs(like how her and Simone's mother was on drugs and ended up oding and passing). Star apologized, there's not much else she could have done after the track was released and that track may have been a diss track, but it was HOT🔥🔥🔥. I rewatched it so many times after that episode aired. Anyway, cut to the scene where they performed all the way up here. After they give an excellent performance everyone cheers the lyrics to Star's song "Y'all know me", Star just gave like a small thinks for their fandom and let them chant the lyrics. If you're on stage and your friend(even if you can't stand her) and she's receiving positive feedback from her song, which promotes her as well as the group (because Alex's solo adventure kind of did the same, right?) then why would you hit her on stage in front of all those people. Those were her fans and probably your fans too, who saw you attack her...for what? If you have beef with her then why not confront her backstage after the mics are off, or hit her back stage when the mics are off? Alex messed up that time when she swung, she should have waited at least until no one could see or hear them. Then the lady says that they can't get behind the group, because of the fight that just happened. And Maurice puts the light on Star to have a solo tour. Alex gets mad and walks away and then Simone (Who's been falling in love, I'm not hating on that, it's fact.) gets mad and say they're not a family anymore before Star even responds to anything and walks off. I didn't see what was so bad about the diss track, Simone did focus more on Angel than the group. The part that kills me in season three is when Star gets mad at Simone and tells her that Star being the way she is is how they survived, she bulldozes so that Simone doesn't have to, that was nothing but the truth. Star mad be hard to get along with, mean sometimes, but she had to be tough to make it through life, get through those bad foster care families. Then they expect Star to change, because she's pregnant...and hormonal. Awesome. I know this is like a ten paged story👀 Loved Miss Bruce and her shade🌴 too.
