Who are you and what is your name?
My name is My View My Opinion (MVMO) & I am a Podcaster, on RU-vid. Due to safety concerns on the internet, I do not share my personal information anymore and I ask that others respect this. Also, I'm against the cult of personality & the promotion of self. I have no desire to "make a name" for myself. That's odd in this day & time I know, because most strive for this. Too many folks make themselves the center of attention instead of helping others first & allowing the information they share to be the focus of folks attention. Many crave applause, acceptance, & "fans & followers". I believe in letting the information take center stage.
Why don't you show your face?
My RU-vid channel is host to my podcast. However, I do make on camera appearances from time to time & have many times in the past- as this is how my channel started, with me on camera talking about whatever. And for those who always ask, yes, I am a black woman, LOL!!!!
What is this, where are the pictures or videos?
The MVMO Podcast is a talk radio program. Generally speaking , there aren't any pictures or vids. It is made for busy professionals like the host. To have the best listening experience, place your device down and multi-task or minimize the podcast on your cell and continue doing whatever you need to do as you have the host's voice going in the background. Your hands and eyes are free!
Where else can I find your podcast?
My podcast is only available on RU-vid. I use Spreaker, a free podcast recording app to record, but I do not have an active podcast on their site. If you hear my podcast anywhere other than youtube, feel free to let me know as it is not me but someone stealing my content.

Smh. 🙄🙄 These raggedy parents always seem to know how to find you and become interested when you become successful, but can’t remember your number, birthday, or anything else when they abandon you. And they do it all while playing the victim when they decide to circle the block. Have several seats ma’am and leave that young lady alone so she can have some peace.

My father and mother abandoned me and my siblings. We grew up in the foster care system. My father, being a narcissist, severely abused us and drove my mother crazy. I'm am now 41. As a result of my father's abuse, my mother is dead. My sister, who was special needs, passed away. I forgive my father. I have settled in my mind that he is completely incapable of being the father I deserve. The best way to "honor" him is to leave him alone.

This video gave me such a peace of mind. I’m pregnant with my first baby and was hoping my Mother would show up for me, just to be disappointed and made to feel guilty for having that expectation. Truth is, I should’ve known better, as she has always abandoned me. I have to accept she’s not willing and/or not capable. It’s not an easy feat but my baby deserves it.

This totally resonates with me, I’m still dealing my my toxic mother and struggle with trying to do what’s right but not really caring to be around her. I have gotten better at protecting my peace and not feeling so guilty about it where she is concerned.

Excellent commentary! It took me a couple of years to forgive my ex. I learned to release the pain to God. God held my hand during my journey to forgiveness. I can now live a happily married life. It took a lot of work but I can never forget what was done to me.

Its the best of both worlds. They don't want to do the work of a relationship but they want the rewards of it. They want to be treated and rewarded like they put the work in for the relationship. The worst part is she waited until she became successful. That doesn't look like she love her. It look like she loves her sucess.

I am sooo proud of Simone! I’m also sooo happy for Grandpa and Nellie!!! You are so right, you don’t know who you are raising and how much the love and support you pour into them will help them become wonderful adults. Children are not obligated to take care of or do things for their parents when they become adults, but what a blessing to the parents they are when it’s just in their hearts to take care of the REAL ones. Simone is so very talented, but some of the reasons she is so blessed is because she is being a blessing to them. ❤

As a child of a parent with addiction, I used to be upset and angry that my father didn't reach out to me for so long, because I was the child and the one who was ovbiously younger. Now, with my father having been passed for many years and as I've aged, grown and learned, I feel as though I could have tried to do my part to reach out to him as I don't know how open I would have been to trying to build with him. On the other hand, if I had been the one to reach out to him after being absent and he didn't reciprocate, that would have been a different story and I likely wouldn't have been willing to reach out and/or try to repair the relationship.. Just my personal feelings.

I thought her interview was self-serving and hypocritical. She’s trying to make Simone feel sorry for her and take care of her now that Simone has reached the top of her field. Simone can forgive but she does not have to make her a part of her life. I wish Simone love peace mental health and joy and a marriage full of beauty.🙏🏾🙏🏾

I relate to this story somewhat. My mother used drug when I was in high school and I can remember her coming into my room in the middle of the night looking for money and taking me on a drug run. By the grace of God she was sober and accepted Jesus (she was a yt Jew) before she passed which was truly a miracle. My mom also came with me to therapy although she didn’t believe in it and I’m so grateful for what she was and wasn’t. She never felt loved by her mother and in fact she was put in a Jewish school for bad kids and even through all that, I absolutely felt loved, protected and provided for. Grace and Jesus is the key and I thank Him for my mother. 🤎🤎

Thank you for such a meaningful understanding of The Commandment to Honor Thy Mother & Father - The Bible does not give a free pass to neglectful or abusive parents -there is also a scripture (I think it's in Ephesians) that advises fathers (parents )to not provoke their children to anger -

Simone is the child who never asked to come here. She is the parent who made the choices she did and is still doing. Simone doesn't owe you anything, lady. The best thing she can do is to get help for herself and live a better life for herself. If she was trying to be a better parent, she would have done the WORK to better herself. A dog can have puppies and take care of the puppies with their lives daily. Just because she gave birth doesn't give her the right to now want to parent Simone.

Thank you for your insightful explination of "...honor your father and mother..." As a child of selfish parents, it was difficult to reconcile this scrpiture for a long time. And yes, you're right forgiveness is difficult to understand because the way its so often misrepresented. It takes a lot of work and effort to not keep that toxic cycle going. For anyone going through this with their family, forgiveness is about meeting your needs first. Once that happens, then all the other stuff can be discerned. And it IS a process. Be kind to yourself and surround yourself with those that support your healing journey. All the best.

I agree! As someone who had a mother with an addiction, you have to make steps that show your going to be a healthy person to have in your child life. The mom never even moved out the same house and neighborhood. She’s still after all these years getting locked up. She’s still don’t sound like a mom who has went through the process to change and be a healthy mother who children would want to come around.

I wonder if Shannon is using that same energy and trying to connect with her other children like she is with Simone. Probably not since she sees dollar signs with Simone. Agree with everything you said. I was raised by a single mother who was verbally, emotionally and physically abusive. Had a deadbeat father who I never new as a child.

I just love your Podcast and I feel that this is your gift and calling and this has truly blessed me because I have been on both sides of this because my mother was a an addict and she had me and my siblings at a very young age and she abused us and periodically abandoned us and my grandparents took care of us but as an adult I chose to forgive her I have 3 adult children and their dad abused me and abandoned us a my daughter's continued to seek attention and love from him and he used them abandoned them as adult women and warned them and told them that it would happen so I agree with you 100 percent.

To me, real forgiveness that Christ exemplifies can include reconciliation if the offensive party truly has changed (repented). We should never hold anyone that did us wrong if we changed. I've surely done things that I don't want people to hold me for 10 years later as if Christ hasn't redeemed me. Yes, they can if they want but in Christ we live by another belief system. But in the case of Simone's mom, when she said "I'll always be an addict".....then that means she hasn't changed. It was her addiction that hurt her kids. And to top it off, the interview is done right now after Olympics. I think the media hunted her birth mom down because the media is nasty. It likes controversy. Also she said Simone can call her. She caused the rift but wants Simome to call her after the Olympics.🙄

This is a very common story. It’s usually the people who don’t do anything that expect something in return. It’s difficult road to navigate but healthy boundaries and the love a support of others as well as understanding that what’s right for her is what will get her through. This road is different for everyone who is in this situation. Simone will do what is meaningful for her to do and her bio mother will just have live with it. People need to stop asking people to do things and go places they are unwilling to themselves

Her grandfather adopted Simone 6 and Adria the youngest two and he is married to him mdo also adopted them. When they adopted them they asked them the terms they preferred to call them ,grandma and grandpa or mom and dad and they chose mom and dad. So in interviews Simone has when talking about them referred to them, want other to as her parent, tell stories about them using mom ,dad, they are with her she does the same.
