Nice work!! Now I’m going to review in slow motion (LoL) and try to mirror this. Can you list the tools/components that you used here? Thank you!

Hey, i hope all is well. I’ll try to showcase the components better in next videos. Thanks for the tip! For this video i did the following: 1. 0:00 - 0:25 sandbox tool: create a TIN grid and use the smoove tool to shape the grid into the desired shape 2. 0:26 - 0:31 surface tool: make a planar surface of the exact size as the curved surface right underneath it 3. 0:32 - 0:40 lines tool: add lines between the corners of the planar (flat) surface and the curved surface. The gaps will be automatically filled to create a closed geometry. 4. 0:41 - 0:49 surface tool: create another surface and place it perpendicular onto one of the sides of the closed geometry. 5. 0:50 - 0:58 copy tool: copy the surface we just made in an array, equally divided along the closed geometry. The spacing should be the same as the sandbox TIN grid we made in step 1. So if you choose a grid of X, then make sure the spacing is also X. 6. 0:59 - 1:00 - explode tool: the TIN grid made in step one might be grouped/joined. If thats the case select all objects (ctrl-A) and right click to explode all items. This is necessary for the next steps. 7. 1:01 - 1:17 delete tool: i sped up this part as it was time consuming, but essentially what i did was from the side view i selected all items between those surfaces we placed in step 5, and deleted the items in between. I continued doing this alternately to create the gaps as we want them in the parametric wall. 8. 1:18 - 1:24 delete tool: now we can remove all the remaining surfaces placed in step 5 as they don’t serve any purpose anymore. 9. 1:25 - 1:32 line tool: to fill in the panels i added surfaces to create closed geometries. 10. 1:33 - 1:45 group and rotate tool: now just group all the items and rotate as desired. I hope these steps make sense, if not feel free to drop more questions. Also, my apologies for the late reply i wasn’t aware that this video actually got views 😅

parametric design is designing by parameters, ie data inputs. this is more organic/ free form modelling ;)

Yup! Thats why i put the 'parametric' in quotation marks. It's for those who want to model without scripts :)

I don't really get what keys you are pressing. It would be 100% good if u did tell us. For now it is very hard to understand for beginners

Hey thanks for your comment! I didn’t think about showing the keys while filming, that’s actually a great tip!! I’ll try to figure out how i can do that in next videos.

1:38 how did u make it smooth without the horizontal grid???

Hey i think what you’re referring to is the selected versus not-selected? The blue lines indicate that the object is selected, hence the blue grid. When an object isn’t selected it shows no gridlines. I hope this is what you mean!

Hey thanks for your comment. This video is kinda old. I personally dont use sketchup anymore as ive switched to rhino/grasshopper. I’ll make videos about rhino/grasshopper soon. For now please just recreate this as i dont have the sketchup files anymore. Thank you
