How I wrap my cosmetic present with this easy Origami gift bag. Paper size 20cm x 20cm. Finished size is 5.5cm (w) x 5.5cm (d) x 7cm (h) Use bigger size paper for bigger present.
When I was little in the 1950s my mother taught us origami. We made origami Christmas decorations for our Christmas tree every year and thought it was so much fun. I don’t know if it was popular then or not, but my mom bought a book on origami and being creative and artistic she passed the skill on to us kids. There was a store in our town that sold the origami paper so we had beautiful decorations on our tree each Christmas.
That sounds lovely! My mum taught me how to fold origami crane, boat, airplane and many others when I was little. Origami has always been "popular" in my own world. :)
Origami is a lovely art. I wish schools in USA would include this in its art programs or even when teaching about different cultures. Fascinating skill!
I was very fortunate to have an elementary school art teacher show us how to make a few basic origami figures. It sparked a very deep interest in me, and even now into my 30's it's one of my favorite things to do whenever I find myself with an extra sheet of paper.
I first became interested in origami when I was 10yrs old. My grandad had just died and I gave my teach a letter from my mum, to say I would miss school for his funeral. But my teacher was talking with another teacher at the time, so she didn't read it straight away. Later on, she called me to her desk, just me. She taught me how to make an origami swan that flapped its wings when you pull the tail. I thought it was marvellous. I've gone on to make other things since, but the swan (or 'Crane' as some call it) is the one which brings most wonder tocthe faces of children. Thank you for teaching me Miss Barker.
Tip : I found that in the very end, if you tug the corners protruding the sides of the bag into the fold of the other side instead of the one on the side they protrude, you can make the bag close by itself
Been talking to this girl for a while and I really like her, I'm gonna make one of these and put some chocolates in there she likes as a present. Hope she likes it. Gonna try to get some nicer paper
If the video is too slow for you, go to the setting wheel and increase the playback speed. I played it at 2X and paused when I needed to. Nice little bag! Thank you for the tutorial!
This is a good idea! I will buy my mom a nice necklace or bracelet for her bday, then keep it in an origami DIY gift bag. I'll tell her my gift is DIY too😂😂
Thank you for this great tutorial. After several attempts I finally figured out how to make them, copying you all the way. I did find that because you used dark card on a black background I found it difficult to see easily. My eyesight isn’t what it used to be. Not fun getting old. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
These are lovely! I really appreciate the speed at which you folder them. It's slow enough that I can follow, yet I can speed it up later if I want to. Thanks for showing us how to fold a small gift bag! 👋🏼🙋🏽♀️✌🏽
I'm gonna make three of these for my friends. I'm not entirely sure what I'm gonna put in there, they'll get to choose what bag they get so it's more fun, but some of the ideas are homemade tinted lip gloss/balm, they'll all get a nice picture in there, maybe a bracelet, some stickers, stuff like that ^v^
I tuck the up standing points into the opposite side of the bag ( between the layers). If done gently/carefully the bag stays beautiful and it creates a lovely closure. Give it a go
Darn it! I don't have any pretty tape. Or decorative paper now that I think about it. Definitely saving this one to my 'Glorigami' playlist for later though! Thank you!!
this makes me so sad because i did this for my mums bday when i was little and she didnt accept it bc it was "cheap" and useless. i cried sm that night. now i'm watching this for my friends birthday. time flies by
I was very down one day and then the next day, my friend gives me this little origami gift basket that says “Fee better”. She hugged me and told me I could open it whenever I want to. She made my year
Omg ty ty ty sooooo much it was my friend’s bday today and l gave her a present in this lil baggie, and she loved it so much that she literally placed it in her room as decor and asked me how to make more!
My theory is they went through the whole process before realizing they didn't have any pretty heart tape. *This absolutely enrages them.* They crush their tapeless gift bags in their hand forming a fist they use to punch yet another hole in the walls of their rented apartment. They then use that fist to literally smash that dislike button in a fit of rageful tears as they crumble into a pitiful tantrum on the floor. All 8 of them. OR... My second theory is that they are actually malicious, jealous fellow origami RU-vidrs who are just seething with envy and fear. _Or..._ I don't know? Maybe they just hate pretty things? All I know is that we are better than them. Objectively.
I remember that in the school I went to the teachers taught their students once a month to make origami. It was pretty fun. Luckily in the school where I go they also have it.
Thankyou very much for making this tutorial, I made this to pack gifts for my brother. The end result is about 12x12x15,5 cm in size, it works beautifully.
@@aalyosha I use 49x49 cm paper, and sorry I need to revise my measurement, the gift box end size is 12x12 cm for the bottom part and the height is 15,5 cm. The shape is like cube with roof. May this help you
I thought the triangular flaps that get folded down on each side were going to be used to hold the bag closed by tucking them into the space on the other side of the bag for a self-closure (which might not be strong enough to hold the bag closed, though I guess tape could still be used to hold the bag closed)
Thanks for the great video! We are making these bags to hold Valentine's candy for my kid's class. I really appreciated the slower pace. Normally, I am constantly having to pause origami videos, but it was nice to be able to just fold along with this one!
