Hi, we are researching 2 simple but powerful battery desulfator circuits, which can be used to effectively remove and prevent desulfurization in lead acid batteries. What Is Sulfating In Lead Acid Batteries
Sulfating is a process in which the sulfuric acid contained in lead acid batteries reacts with the plates by overtime to form layers of white powder-like matter on the plates.
This layer deposit severely disrupts the chemical actions inside the battery during charging or discharging, making the battery inefficient with its powering properties.
Normally, this happens when the battery is not used for a long time, and charging and discharging operations are not performed very often.You can overcome this problem with simple battery desulfator circuit.
Unfortunately there is no effective way to solve this problem, but it has been investigated that trapped sulfur deposits on an affected battery can be broken down to some extent by exposing the battery to high current bursts while charging.
These high current charging pulses should be well optimized with some control circuits and carefully diagnosed while the process is being performed.
Use of PWM
Applying the method through a PWM-controlled circuit is probably the best way to do this.

The circuit of a PWM battery charger discussed here can be considered as the best design to realize the above desulfurization.
IC 555 is configured and used in standard PWM control mode.
The output from the IC is appropriately amplified through several transistors so that the aforementioned high current pulses can be delivered to the battery, which needs to be desulfurized.
PWM control can be set to low "mark" ratio to implement a desulfurization process.
Conversely, if the circuit was intended to be used to charge normal batteries, the PWM control could be adjusted to produce pulses with equal sign-to-gap ratios or to the desired specifications.
Control of the PWM will depend only on the individual's personal preference, so it must be done correctly according to the instructions of the battery manufacturers.
Failure to follow the correct procedures can lead to fatal accidents in the battery due to the possible explosion of the battery.
