Adorable quilt! I would like to see a tutorial using the wonky ruler. I don't have many rulers and I'd like to know if it would be easier with the wonky ruler or should I invest in a few more regular square rulers 🤔
Love how you did the wonky, scrappy log cabin. I would love to see a tutorial on the wonky ruler. Thank you for your time and design inspiration. Have a good day.
I always enjoy your videos please do a tutorial on the wonky log cabin block ruler this scrappy log cabin block looks so easy to make im going to try it
Love your wonky log cabin quilt. So inspiring to us who love scrapy. Yes please do a tutorial on the wonky rules. You are so much fun to watch. I always look forward to your videos. Keep them coming April. You are my favorite to watch.
I love it...I watched when you did one before and I made one...I got it put together and my hubby came in and said it looked like a drunk put it together...hahaha. Yea. I plan to try it again and just wing it...
I like the idea of just jumping in and being creative with scraps. Just like what you did today making a wonky log cabin. I would love to see your tutorial with the creative grid wonky log cabin tool. Your idea has given me some inspiration to try it. thank you for sharing and always making it fun! 😉
What a fun quilt! Love your style. I have a quart canning jar stuffed with scraps, but I have a case of half gallon jars in the cellar. I think one of those would be even cuter. Have you tried a chocolate covered Payday? Yummmm
well...Hi there ... I am so glad you tunned in... if there is something you would like me to show you ... send me your suggestions... That is what I am here for to try to show fast / easy beautiful quilting! Thanks for watching my channel! April
I love this quilt. I'm not a scrappy fan but this came out great. I really like how you showed with regular rulers first and not the specialty ruler. will you be putting borders on it? If yes, Please show the end result.
Just the video I needed today! I have bags of scraps to use. And, yes, please make a tutorial with the wonky ruler. (My blocks are usually wonky without even trying.) Love all of your videos - and your Christmas tree.
May I share a nightmare? I decided to start with a panel vs the little square. Btw, this was quilt number 69 for me. I decided to use all widths of strips and use a little wood roller to press. And I thought it was going well using the wood roller vs ironing. When I completed my throw sized throw quilt top, the center didn’t lay flat. Lord, help me, Jesus. I couldn’t press it flat. I ended up cutting out the center panel and started over, pressing after sewing on each strip. It is taking forever. The outer part will get cut into string quilt squares and I will love it. But, this shouldn’t have happened on quilt 69! Thank you!
You are so laid back, easy going and real!!! It’s so refreshing in the quilting world. I am so glad I found your channel because you make quilting so freeing. You make quilting seem doable! Not intimidating!! Thanks April!!!! We love YOU!!!
I was doing a wonky log cabin and added an extra piece to the center. So there were 5 pieces around the center square. And it ended up looking kind of like a rose. So I called it my wild rose block and added some wonky cut leaves too! Hi to Maxine and Oliver❤
I’m a “functioning hoarder” too! Love the idea of putting fabric strips in a glass jar BUT yes, another thing to dust or look at the dust!!!😂 love that-so very much relatable!!! Sadly!! Love scrappy quilts. My grandma would always make nine-patch quilts from scraps leftover that she had sewn my sister’s and my clothes. Enjoyed finding the scraps that were a favorite dress or top. Another great idea! As always, enjoyed watching your video!
April, this turned out so CUTE!! Yes, I would love to see how the ruler is used. Thanks for the videos - I love watching and you give me so many ideas!!
These are fun projects since you just grab, sew, cut, repeat. When I do this I place my rotating mat next to my sewing machine, so II don’t have to get up from the machine unlessI want to. That makeweight quick work and less energy. Love your channel, must tell my husband that you save your ribbon too. Lol. Your scrap pile is akin to mine, plus enough pre-cuts, kits and other fabric to last forty years without another purchase. However, I can’t seem to pass up new fabric, guess I am a fabriholic. Loved the video.
The last two videos that I have seen this past week are difficult to hear. I have my volume up to 100 and can barely hear what you are saying. I really want to hear what you are saying. I like what you did with the Log Cabin making it wonky.
Love your process, April. Your quilt looks great! I am a Functional Hoarder as well April! Glad to see I am in such awesome company!! Not a problem for now as long as there is room!
April, I used the 404 spray to make my pieces for the DWR not slippery. It worked great. When the lint got obnoxious, I'd just wash them off with water and dryed them with a paper towel. It worked great! And another bonus, it didn't distort seeing the lines on the tempates.
from Gerry- It looks great. I bought the wonky ruler and made the traditional log cabin with light and dark. It is gorgeous. However, I love how you did yours and I'm sure I will copy what you did. I enjoy watching you work. Have a blessed day.
Just watched this ..Thank you!!! Been making log cabins out of scrap strip from second hand shops ... getting frustrated coz i sewed them wonky ..going to love it now!!! Visual learner . Love chocolate . In new zealand . God bless you . ❤
I really like your videos. I enjoy them very much. You’re very funny person. I just have one suggestion either your microphone is muted or your recording at low volume but either way, if someone could just fix that that would be great thank you.
Love the wonky block. I have the Creative Grids Wonky Log Cabin and would LOVE to see a tutorial from you on how to use it. I really want my block to be bigger than 10" finished. Learned your technique of adding a 2.5" strip to make it bigger. Also, I have the Accuquilt Go system and love it. Would really like more of your tutorials using the various dies as I find your tutorials to be more practical (and fun) than those on the Accuquilt site. Thanks for all you do to make quilting so fun.
