@@Sorin_DIY yeah but those that do, are loyal and will be there to support what they love. My guess is now that technology is a lot harder to diy/repair, not a lot of people have interest because they lack the skills like soldering SMD components. I find it challenging but possible with the right tools! Hope your channel grows bigger and better than the rest

Great build, and well explained. Fabricating your own boxes is great, perhaps as an idea for next time how about repurposing an existing (possibly scrap) decorative housing e.g folk are throwing out vintage radiograms with Bakelite knobs .. would be awesome to reuse something like that and hide new-age tech inside. Keep up the great work, and hope you get some sun to keep the speaker charged :-)

Another small tip: a lot of these boards use JST-PH or compatible connectors. Invest in an Engineer PA-21 crimping tool (€50) and a box set of PH headers/housings/crimps, and you can easily make proper connectors instead of soldering. Makes it a lot more professional, and you don't have to solder inside the housing, and you can replace any broken component easily.

Faina boxa, suna bine. In rest keep up the good work that you do.

Sorin thanks for the new videos but I think there is something wrong with the schematic. The solar module is connected directly to the Battery and to the output of TP4056. This way the battery has no protection against the solar panel. Shouldn't be connect the solar module to the input of TP4056?? Please correct me if I'm wrong
@matakaw4287

I was thinking that as well. The tp4056 could receive it's power from usb or solar, then on to the li-ion. Great project idea.

hi. the solar charger module has the MPPT (Maximum power point tracking) technology, which uses the maximum available current from the solar panel, without letting the input voltage drop lower than 4.4V. the TP4056 charging module is trying to charge the cell with the preset current, which in this case is 1A. if the solar panel can't deliver 1A and you connect it to the TP4056 module input, the voltage will drop too much and the TP4056 module will shut down. so each module it's charging the lithium cell with the best efficiency for the charging method for which it is intended.

Awesome video! Any reason in particular you didn't use a 18650 instead of pcb batteries? What is the role of the passive side radiators exactly?
@Sorin_DIY
@Sorin_DIY 4 года назад
hi. I like these flat lithium cells, because they can be better positioned on the speaker box panel, they take less space, because they are rectangular and thin. they also provide a flat surface for the acoustic insulation to be glued. passive radiators are used in sealed enclosures. the internal pressure varies, when the active speaker drivers vibrate, so the passive radiators act like dampers for the pressure and help the speaker drivers not to vibrate too much and get damaged. they also vibrate from the pressure fluctuation and create low frequency sounds, which increases the bass.

The only thing I don’t understand is why additionally install a charging board for a solar battery if you already have a charging board for 3.7 V with a USB input? ))
@Sorin_DIY
@Sorin_DIY Год назад
Because the charging modules have different functions. to charge the battery from a solar panel, it needs a MPPT charging module. The one I use can charge the battery with maximum 500mA, but it doesn't have battery protection. The TP4056 module can charge the battery with max 1A and also has battery protection.

You are not getting the rated current cause you are not performing MPPT most likely. With just a couple of resistors its not easy to find the MPP, i get MPP current in the UK but using an MPPT board i made even in winter, it would be overkill for you though

Salut Sorin. Mi-am luat și eu 4 astfel de module. Înțeleg că este 3W+3W dar ce se întâmplă dacă voi pune de exemplu două difuzoare de 10W?
@Sorin_DIY
@Sorin_DIY 3 года назад

@Sorin_DIY
@Sorin_DIY Год назад
Hi. It's not good to connect the solar panel directly to the BMS. the voltage and current need to be regulated by a MPPT controller, or at least a CC/CV converter, which will have a lower efficiency. if you connect it directly, it may damage the BMs or battery pack.

@Roy_Tellason
@Roy_Tellason 4 года назад
Often one of the two terminals is marked with a bit of red stuff. If not, you can determine the correct polarity with a battery and a couple of bits of wire. Just connect the battery momentarily to the terminals and note which way the cone moves -- in or out. Then check the other one, they should be wired so that they move in the same direction for the same polarity.

@Sorin_DIY

hi. without checking a few things you can't find the problem. what is the real capacity of your battery pack, what type of BMS did you use? what is the current consumption of your routers, both routers need a supply voltage of 12V? what is the max output power of the UPS measured with some dummy load resistors? the UPS still delivers 12V when you try to turn on the UPS, or does the voltage drop? you can't guess where the problem is, you need to work and test everything until you find the problem.
