This was my first ever crochet project and this tutorial was so easy to follow that I ended up being able to make my own modifications to the straps without completely messing up the rest of the project!! Thank you for this tutorial
This bag was so easy to follow . Instructions and measurements were on point . I made this mag in one day and turned out so nice . I made it multi yarn from red heart
this was my first crochet project that wasn’t a stuffed animal/character of some kind, and as a relative beginner who likes very specific instructions, this tutorial was perfect!! i gave this bag to my mom for her birthday and she loved it! :)
What a great tutorial! Perfect speed and explanations. Great camera angle and lighting as well. I appreciate your drawings and the gentle sound of your voice. I can't wait to make this bag.
Thank you for this video I’m ganna make my very first purse crotchet I’m beginner hopefully works out you give amazing measurements and tips for how to do it please do more I like watching them and u do it right speed thank you
I am in love with your videos and your tutorials are also so easy As a begginer I can easily create my own projects because of you But my yarn 🧶 finishes in middle can you please show a tutorial of joining the yarn
I used single crochet stitch for the base of the bag, but because it take soooo long to finish the bag, I am thinking of using a different stitch, what would you recommend and how can I do it?😅
I finished my bag and it looks just like your bag! I am very happy with it! Thank you for all your help and this amazing tutorial! This was my first time using the 24/7 cotton yarn and I love it. I may try using two strands together on my next bag. Do you have any recommendations for a bulky yarn to use on bags? I want to make a bag with stripes and a cross body! Thank you!
how many skeins/grams did yours take? I have 340 grams of Bernat Handicrafter, and I'm on row 43 of the base, but I would guess I only have about 140 grams left. I have no scale, but nervous I will run out of yarn by the time I start the straps 😫
@@shaniceleader2539 I do not remember. I used the 24/7 cotton and I always buy the amount the pattern calls for which was 200 grams. I had plenty with a little left over.
Update :I made a much smaller one using mostly your design and technique except I single crochet in the same direction all the way to the end! There's no seam cuz I don't turn and chain one. The only problem is to hide the last stitch, and I decided to finish on the short side of the bag so it's s almost invisible 😂 Not as perfect as yours but I'm happy enough Thanks a million ❤
Thank you, this looks very simple and I can’t wait to try it! I have a lot of basic acrylic yarn on hand. Do you think it will still work well or should I definitely go grab some cotton yarn for this project?
Question: I don't need to change direction when I reach the end of each round right? It's much easier that way. And I don't really understand the purpose of changing direction, would you please explain further? Love your sweet, calm voice bty❤
@@VivCrochets but if I do the rounds in the same direction, there's no need to slip stiches and chain one, there should be no seam at all, I assume? Let me do my way for a while and see what happens. Will let you know my progress 💪😝thanks and please respond to this again. Need some encouragement along the way😊
13:28 IF YOUR YARN IS STRETCHEY THEN DO LESS BC IT WILL HANG LOW!!!!!!! 18:14 if you have no darning needle cut more yarn then just leave it in the bag but if you do have a daring needle do what she does
Hi! I love this bag but I wanted it to be a little bigger. Do you think I could just double everything it would come out OK? I am a brand new crochet, but I do know how to single crochet! Lol.
I usually let you know how to adjust the size! For the base, you chain more for longer and do more rows for wider. For the height, do more rows to make it taller. If you do want double the size of the bag, you would double the number of chains and rows!
Can i use starch to stiffen this bag so it stand up straight? I love this bag and this pattern is pretty simple and easy to follow. Just wondering about the starch.
This was such an amazing tutorial! However i accidentally missed a few stitches while building the body and now the top half is smaller than the bottom. How can I fix this?
Question, why ch1 and turn each round rather than work in a continuous spiral? I was wondering if it would make a difference other than the seam down the side of the bag? Is it to keep the stitches from slanting?
That and I prefer to work in joined rounds over continuous rounds! Also, the strap of this bag is worked starting in the corner. You would need to fasten off and reattach in the right stitch if you worked continuous
@@VivCrochets Thank you so much for the quick reply, I figured there was a good reason you did it this way I was just curious! I’m a lefty and hold my work a bit differently so working in rounds is just easier for my hands, but I am making this pattern right now and am sticking to turning my work, can’t wait for the FO, thanks so much!
hey i’m in need of some help! This is a great tutorial, but I’m a little bit confused. I’ve never made a project like this before. Is there two pieces of the 52 rounds with all of the rows in it or is it just one piece that doesn’t get together?
what is considered 1 round? when you make it back to your stitch marker? and do we have to slip stitch everytime we get to the sides or only when we get to the stitch marker before we do single crochets along the width?
Thank you! The process depends on the material of the yarn you use! I’ve only ever done wet blocking which you do by wetting the fabric and pinning it in place to dry
