Coach Mac, I've enjoyed watching your videos and gaining ideas from the material you have been covering. I was brought up in a 3-4 scheme and now Coach in a 4-2-5. When you run a true cover 4, are you having your Split safeties play Read force off the B and C gaps with no TE and D and C gaps with an attached TE?
When you "spark" the interior linemen into the gap, what technique do you have them use? Just a flat step at the snap of the ball and ripping into the gap? Specifically at time 20:04 in the video. Thanks
+sydney melton We will step square and lateral and then read the next adjacent lineman we are working towards. If that lineman works out to us or pass sets we will get vertical up the field now. If that lineman works away from us we will flatten out and keep working to his hip.
