gotsnoluv4ya: For a brush very similar to that,and about a third of the price check your local cosmetic shops an even thrift stores.Sometimes a used brush works far better then a new one. P.S. Don't forget sponges,and feathers an have fun experimenting. 😲😃👍

gotsnoluv4ya was the white paint they used, just white paint or was it something specific

It reminds me of an early morning fog on a river when there is a pink sky that reflects and colours everything. The way it unfolded was amazing. The perspective, and the shading were all there was to it but it was so creative.

Yes no doubt he was inspired from the person you mentioned but most of us out here learned these techniques from Bob Ross himself because he was the one who showed them to us through his excellent tv series etc. Nobody is ever the first at anything. Everyone is inspired by someone else and then takes what they learn and adapts it to their own liking and technique.

choppy249 Maybe most but definitely not all. I was originally exposed to the Alexander wet on wet technique on PBS about 35 years ago, at a time when no one knew Ross.

It is not necessary to spend a lot of money. At first just buy basic supplies, you could use poster paints from Bastins or Smiths. You could paint on paper or old cardboard box sides though a texturedwater colour pad is very nice. The brush with the poster paints, if there is one will probably be poor, so you might want to seek a better one at an artists supplies or hobby shop but you could experiment with feathers, cotton buds, a bunch of your hair sticky taped together, strips of card etc. Just experiment, but a lot of the secret of art is looking. Look at other videos & at paintings & see if you can spot how the artist has acheived the effect of clouds, water, brick, hair etc. When you look at water or a sunset etc start to think how you could acheive that effect. Don't show your experiments to anyone who might criticise. This is something you do for yourself not for anyone else & what others think does not matter. Gaining skill is largely a matter of practice. If others make it look easy they have probably been practising a long time.
