Great setup El. To answer your question; semi flexible solar panels are pretty good value. I used 2x 300w panels attached to some twin wall sheeting (for air circulation) via 3M VHB tape. They worked excellent and charged 2x 135ah agm batts installed in the camper trailer i built

Cheers for the input! I’m interested to know how much is fed into your system off panels that size.

Fair good job if I can say so. The only issue I can see is don't rely on 50A Andersen plug to deliver 50A as you know the cable to your battery is only capable of around 25Amps (minus other appliances draining at same time). if you ever get another battery to hook up parallel, then you'll need to join them with 4/0 cable, not AWG 12. Same with an 240v inverter, use it's product wires, or 100Amp rated for 2400Watt unit. The Andersen plug on side you could hook up another solar array with its own charge controller, so if you park under shade you can extend to sun. Usually the solar mats are 10Amps peak, maybe 20Amps if bigger, depending on the Charge Controller max output. The fridge may not make a good connection in the cigarette sockets. Maybe that's where the Anderson plug can come into use too, on the side of the terminal box.

Thanks for your input! I actually think I might strip some of the components out to build the power system in my outhouse/bathroom/laundry build, to power the water pump , so I thought it was about time I documented the van power setup while I can. Do you know much about the semi flexi solar panels? Thinking about attaching one to the side of the van ( it's full panels on one side with no door/window). Tiny space, trying to make use of the surfaces I have. Also everything is on a budget here , as you can see 😂

@@elnaturaleAus Well flexible panels are the right choice. No frame to scratch the duco, and light weight. They are renowned for not performing as well as the frames solid type though.

@@elnaturaleAus If you intend to use the existing king's charge controller, which has more capacity left, you will need to wire the solar in parallel, not serial. Consider the solar-panels as like batteries. Serial will accumulate the voltage. You're targeting for 12V, so you need to double the current instead, not the voltage, and that means parallel.
