Grew up with my parents listening to this, am now 19 years old and it's a blessing i've had to experience amazing music like this and others in the genre.
Matteo Prezioso U2 are in a different world. Musically and lyrically. Simple minds did make some great songs but they have not had the longevity U2 have had. And Jim Kerr certainly does not have the vocal range that Bono has.
Indeed, I agree they are both interesting and persuasive in their own way, we can enjoy both, no need to choose, I remember being forced to do this with friends in schools, those days are long gone. listen to what I like when I like
This is the most amazing song. I have loved it ever since it was first released. Sends shivers down my spine. Simple Minds are so passionate about their music. They are definitely for real. The lyrics are heart wrenching. I would love this concert on DVD. Thanks ogmuk. You have made my day.
That is without doubt the best performance of that song , better than the Berlin and the others . For me it one of the Greatest live performance of any band . That orchestra , from the flute to the harp , the precussion to the strings and the brass section . Jim's vocals and the "lone" guitar the power Charlie's got out . I think Jim realised it was a special performance at the end .

As a guy that’s been involved in a few conflicts........ war is never the answer, the only problem is there’s money in conflict. While the majority suffer the minority prosper. Sad world we live in. Awesome song btw 😎👍

WOW! Great quality vid thanks for uploading it. I've been a fan of Simple Minds since I was a wee boy and heard 'Waterfront' on a TV mini series called The Justice Game. It remains one of my favourite songs to this day. I can't believe I've never seen them live but I hope to rectify that at Edinburgh Castle this year and if they're anything like they are in this vid I'll be a very happy man!
