The bond between Jim Kerr & Charlie Burchill is extraordinary & touching. Direction of the Heart, in at No. 4 in the charts this wk. Epic. Seems to be some debate/confusion in the music press about whether it's studio album No 18, 19 or 20. Depends on whether you include 1981's Sons & Fascination/Sister Feelings Call as 2 separate albums and whether or not you include 2016's Acoustic. Also, of course, there's Our Secrets Are the Same, only ever released as part of 2004's Silver Box, which could even take it to 21.
Grande banda inglesa que amo suas musicas, musicos talentosos a essa voz marcante que passados decadas, meu gosto musical não mudou, graças a deus, viva Simple Minds......................
Jim's got the promo skills down too. Slips the last question and changes back to the new album again. These two are great and soundtracked my 80's teenage decade
I wish the world would "Take a Step Back" Love you, guys. You hear it a all the time, but you helped this 56 year old through some very bright and dark days. God Bless You. Thankyou also to the poster.
Charlie’s brother Jamie was a plumber living in Cardiff in the 1990’s. He fitted a new bathroom suite for us in 1992. Saw my guitars and asked if I played in a band and then casually mentioned that his brother was in a band…..Simple Minds. My wife and I were huge fans and have seen them many times over the years. They still cut it !!
The best or one of the best bands ever. I am grateful they still make music and perform, especially considering all the awful noise and performers that the music industry is pushing for
You guys just don't realise what an impact you had in our lives. Your music was part of many many memories and with the new album lots more to come. We just REALLY REALLY wish you would come to South Africa as you have a MASSIVE following here. 👏👏💐💐
I have always loved the band, excellent musicianship! i just wished we could all stop defining our lives by the 'pandemic', pre-pandemic' etc, as if nothing else went before it! i just wonder if that's a BBC prod so as we never forget!
@Paul Grogan i really appreciate this video! i've been a simple minds fan since the mid 1980's. it was so nice to hear from jim in this interview. the bugger is 63 and he has such a positive, kind attitude. just a great outlook on life. cheers 🍺from southern ontario, canada 🍁
I absolutely love Simple Mind's... TORYGLEN boys done great.. I seen them live back in 2003 when I was 22 and were fantastic. Jim is one great entertainer and front man.. Love his little high kicks he does and his hand movement's ..best concert to purchase was live in Verona Italy. Totally blew me away.. But yeah became a fan around 2000 when I was 20..Love from up the road In East-Kilbride near Glasgow.. They have had so much great music it's difficult to pick but alot compare them to U2 but Simple Mind's are in my opinion a million time's better.. Hoping to see them again next time they tour Glasgow. Can't believe it's been like 20 years since I seen them.. Time sure flys by .lol Jim's still looking hot. x
My dad is Scottish and sounds very much like Charlie. In person (my dad)I can understand him no problem but when he rings me pissed up after the football no chance 😂
