The ending with Judd walking on the field is one of the most iconic endings in a film...ever! Not to mention to an iconic song! This movie makes me miss the 80's!

I think the end had a vibe all it's own too, & there's actually a school nearby where I live that really really looks&reminds me of the end scene from This movie. I know it's not where it was filmed, but it sure looks a lot like it.

I wasn't even alive in the 80's and this makes me want to go to a time where we had video games and movies like today, but in this style and old fashioned like this because this is a great song from a more innocent time in music history people didn't have to deal with grunge, nu-metal, or pop style stuff of today or 90's or today with all the pop trash, and hip hop trash, or rap trash

Vera Rocha Also consider this was a low budget movies and look how great it came out. No special effects basic scence in a library, it goes to show that substance and characters made the movie u like todays which is 90% explosions and loud sounds.

@Cosmo Dookie it was also the man creating it. John Hughes knew how to capture and portray emotion, feeling. He seemed to understand teenage angst and lust. Its one of those lost arts that is just so difficult to reproduce like the original...

Actually it was shoot in a real high school in Illinois. Which John Hughes shoot most of films around Chicago. At the time the High school was already closed. They had to rebuild the library inside the gym due to other library being to small to film in.

Dear Mr. Vernon: We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong, but we think you’re crazy to make us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us… In the simplest terms and the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain… …and an athlete… …and a basket case… …a princess… …and a criminal. Does that answer your question? Sincerely yours, the Breakfast Club.

Ah yes, the high school drama, which you remember when you get old, and realize what you thought was important, wasn't even a ripple in a pond, nothing but memories, followed by regrets, the regrets always caused by fear of what others would think at the time, yeah, you miss out on really living due to what someone might say. Trying to be popular, you miss out on whats important, what you are there for, learning, so you will be ready when you graduate, and set out into the world. Good movie, I love that song, can see it like it was yesterday when I close my eyes while listening to it.

This feels so nostalgic because something along the lines of a group of people with nothing in common gathering once and only once has happened to everyone. The realistic take is that these 5 never got together again, but will remember that day fondly. We all had a day like that. Where are those people now? It's been so long.

I would bully the nerds a lot but i ended up being friends with some of them and the reason why just cause of one reason the same interest in sports lol. That's only thing that we all liked. Plus i had little nerd inside me that made me secretly admire smart people. I also became cool with one jock. This was in Granada hills the suburbs of Los Angeles California 1987 88 and 89

The greatest teen movie ever!!!! I was about 14 when it came out. I lived in Saturday detention. Reminds me of my Saturday mornings in detention. 80's the best.

I hope that there comes a time like the 80s again. I feel it is coming back or something, especially in the clothing style

In 1979 my town's junior high school had the typical 3-4 roles you could fulfill in a small town school. You could be popular or a burnout, a jock, a nerd, a farmer or a cheerleader. Not much else. Small towns are SMALL towns. But a teacher who taught a social studies class had an idea. She asked a number of us students in study hall if we would like to take time out and participate in a weekly social exchange where we talked to each other, our personal lives, concerns, hopes, problems & told stories... it was a first for us. Our group was diverse (at least as far as roles were concerned) and we were able to relate to each other in more profound ways than we were socialized to expect normally. The conversations were affecting and personal. The results we realized before this great movie was made were that "each of us, a jock, a criminal, a nerd, a prom queen" were all in the same boat. I remember each of us having a greater amount of respect and genuine friendship for each other even though we ran in different groups. We all said hello in the hallways, waved at each other on the streets and looked out for each other. It was real growth for young kids. A few years later I moved to a very cultured, progressive, ethnically diverse suburb of Chicago (not far from where this film was shot) and the diversity, opportunities and culture of of that town changed my life for the better. It was a big town with a small community and a big heart. It was a privilege.

The 80s was the greatest time of my life and the fact I got to watch these classic movies in the theater when they were new. It's kinda like listening to my mom talk about seeing movies like Gone with the Wind up on the silver screen. Judd's fist in the air and John Cusack's radio hoisted in the air in the movie Say Anything were iconic and defined our time.
