One the greatest bands of all time.. who are still underrated. Bono knows...... and he's pretty good too. Love 'em all.. takes me away, on a cosmic train, to somewhere, somewhere in my youthtime.
@@raggedtrousered534 He left the band at the end of street fighting years tour, fall 1989. Reasons are in the album special.edition booklet featuring a long interview with all the members, where he tells he suffered of anxiety standing in front of huge crowds of stadia and realized that was not to be his life, hence he got back to his family.
Always thought this was one of the most subtle and beautiful of instrumentals that any group at any time have ever come up with. Not a wasted second in it as it builds beautifully, both on the original album and now, sounding as good as it ever did.
Absolutely majestic! Simple Minds really are at the top of their game right now. The whole of NGD that night was both immense and at the same time delicate, nuanced. An incredible night…
Absolutely magical! A fantastic atmosphere as It was forty years ago...Close your eyes and let yourself flying free in space... Thanks Francesca for sharing this video ...a wish for a peaceful life everybody! Long Life to our beloved Simple Minds!
Goosebumps, they RRRRRR back!! What a performance........back then 18years old in the 80's loved them, still do!! Mesmerizing the time back then, and look @ them now, miss those days......wanna turn back time, but so gratefull to enjoy them still!! Thnx Simple Minds for all the years of outstanding music/lyrics.
Simple minds' instrumentals are so good and so under-rated! Every one of the early albums had one, they were all good! And this one is my favorite, fantastic to see it live in a recent performance. Beautiful, thank you!
Just coming back to these legends...I'm amazed...I thought they lost it a bit after I saw em,sfy tour ,this is as good as they where ,Charlie was class then ,but the magic is even better.god bless SM..
Well dang.. I was in Edinburgh 10 days before for the Pixies too.. I love this track and this album so much it hurts - from the happiest time of my youth.. So f'in epic, hopeful and dreamy.. would've loved to be there for this but SM lost me at Belfast Child.. Just didn't get it and I've not kept up with releases after that.. Love all their early work up to Alive and Kicking and that's it..
Cherisse showing her skills. All the new line up haters who probably haven't seen them recently need to appreciate the SM sound and feel. It's still there. If you are stuck in the past.....dont comment.
Love how much of the early SM material has endured and still sounds fresh and vibrant, as witnessed by the NGD gig and performances on the 5x5 tour. By way of a contrast, I recently played Once Upon A Time for the first time and I thought it sounded tired and somehow dated. Really at the top of their game here - thanks for sharing.
I bought this crazy colored album back when it came out. After “promised you a miracle” and the other songs, this song came on. I was blown away!! What memories it brings!
