It's so true! I love Simple Minds, but when they lost Derek, they lost some of the essence that made early Simple Minds so great.

Nice version. It's hard to mimic the percussive "excitement" effect of Burchill's guitar but you've done a good job.

Thank you! I know it's not quite there yet. I suspect Steve did it by overdriving a spring reverb tank and I didn't have one at hand. If I come across Steve Hillage one day, I'll ask! :D

Handsome tribute. Respectful and respectworthy. The bass a bit underplayed for my taste. I like the transitions (1:39 - 1:45) better than the original. I find the departures from original tasteful and well fitted.

Although, just to prove how covering a track that is so close to some people is risky business, a lot of people have told me the baseline was overplayed! :D My thoughts are it is neither. it is played the way I intended to interpret it. 🤷‍♂️🙏🙏🙏
