Welcome back! I'm currently working through a number of new Scribus speed arts videos and walkthroughs for the Scribus Project series. I have even come across the Creative Fabrica this year and found it super useful. So, I may end up putting together a video series on a number of ways you can use Creative Fabrica and Scribus to speed up the design time.

VIDEO REQUEST: I watched all your videos on Scribus. It helped a lot. Thanks a lot for that. You are a gem. Thing is when I make tables they don't seem to stay with the text. For instance: Example-text-A [Table] Example-text-B If some more text is added before Example-text-A, the table would not stay between A and B anymore. In short, tables don't move/flow with the text. Is it the way this is or it is just me doing something wrong? Moreover, once you click off of tables, it is hard to get back to edit mode of the table. Clicking on table doesn't seem to even highlight/select the table. I hope I made myself clear on everything here. Could you pls make a video on tables. I am sure many other people are looking for same thing and there are not many videos on the topic on YT or on Scribus in general. Thanks a lot for your previous (quick) reply again.

The table in Scribus should not be fluid and this is intentional as the purpos of desktop publising sofotware like Scribus is to give users maximum configuration. Unfortuanlty, this also means that with maximum configurability you tend to automated adjustments like the ones you might see in other word processing or spreadsheet applications like Google Docs or Sheets. Yes, I watched all the playlist, when I was starting with Scribus about 15 days ago. All I know now, is because of you. Please don't stop. Keep bringing more tutorials on the features and how-tos.

I tested the same version (1.6.1) on Windows (I use Fedora, btw). There, on Win10, all the foot/endnote related options are greyed-out (that's a better visually clear indication of an unavailable feature tho). So, I guess it is not a bug. The document must have some kind of attribute or quality or something to be able to qualify to use foot/endnotes. Bcz it doesn't look like they removed the feature. Let's keep exploring. I will try to find what is missing. I will be keeping a close eye on your videos in case you find it first. Oh and v1.5.8 works with foot/endnotes fine out of the box (but doesn't accept files created with v.1.6.1.).

There is an active bug in version 1.6.1 that has been sent to the Scribus development team and is under review. It is unfortunate that Scribus isn't backward compatible with previous versions, but it is good to see that you are digging into things. Thanks for posting your updates as I'm sure others will find them useful if they are running into the same issue.

Hey, bingo! Foot/Endnotes are disabled by default bcz it is an experimental feature. It can be enabled by Preferences > Experimental Hope it helps someone.

URGENT: Kindly help. I saw you video on Foot/Endnotes. Problem is, I cannot even click the "Notes styles" and "Marks". Only these two entries are unusable from the menu. I tried: Creating new page, Create new doc from scratch, With and without text frame But they both are not clickable and usable. The right-click menu is also not working for adding Foot/Endnotes and Marks. (I don't need marks, but just mentioned bcz they are unavailable too) What am I doing wrong. Any input is appreciated. Kindly help.

Unfortunatly, there appears to have been a breaking change around foot/end notes with version 1.6.1 of Scribus. A bug ticket has been created and submitted to the development team by the Scribus staff. If it is urgent for you to have this ability to you may need to install a side-by-side version of Scribus using version 1.5.8. bugs.scribus.net/view.php?id=3349

@@TopCLAXThe link you posted, it is a bug report from 2006. Is there any new update on that? (I am sorry to sound like you are my Customer Support. You are a good guide) Anyway, I tried v1.5.8, it works fine on its own but it does not accept files created with v1.6.1 (which I have). But anyway, thank you for your time and input.
