We had mice get in ONCE! Now we put a sticky mouse trap on the top of each tire of our motorhome, we use thumb tacks to secure. (No mean comments please). We put lights all around the motorhome to deter them before they try to get up the tires. We also use mouse traps next to all of our hoses to get them before they get in. We purchased a mouse repeller that hooked up to the engine compartment of the motorhome and one for our Jeep. And we use a variety of electric mouse repellers inside the motorhome! (So it’s rare that mice actually do get up on our tires.....but it occasionally happens). Instead of using fabric softener we use vinegar! Our clothes have no static electricity ⚡️ It’s also good for cleaning out the inside of your washer.

Enjoyed your helpful hints here. I had not heard of the Turtle Wax Seal and Shine, and I really like the finish on the vehicle. I also tried it on my windshield and it did not work so well for me. Even though I thought I had did a good job in buffing the Turtle Wax out, it left spots for me, which in this case it was dried was spots. I had to use mineral spirits to remove the spots and used regular window cleaner to clean the window. Using wet dryer sheets also worked outstanding to remove bug deposits from the trailer and vehicle, this was a great idea and thanks for sharing.

Trailer and rv makers want you to check wheel lugs more often than convienient. Get them properly tight ( specs). Then take white out, mark the stud and lug nut with a mathcing small mark. Visually check to see if they have moved before every trip.!!!!

Over rated, maybe five rv tires a year have loose nuts from something other than mechanic/operator error. Check them to specs once a season, be done with it. Normal visual walk around is all I’ve done for 20 years unless serviced!

First off, thanks for the videos, they're great. As far as tips go, if you don't have a level handy place a soda or beer can on the floor of the rig vertically and then horizontally. If it rolls in either direction you need to level until the can stops moving. For bugs, on your truck bumper and mirrors, dampen the area and then cover with plastic wrap. Once you're at your final destination, take off the wrap and throw it in the trash - no scrubbing required.

I found that by putting two 6" square unglazed tiles in the oven over the burner tube works like a pizza stone by dissipating the heat evenly. When traveling I take them out and keep them wrapped in a towel. For around $5 at Walmart I also bought an oven temperature thermometer so upon startup I can see what the oven's temperature really is.

One of the best tips I ever received concerns unhitching a 5th wheel. There have been times when I am unhooking the truck from the 5th wheel and I raise it just enough to see a small gap and then pull the receiver pin and it won't unhitch. I then have to raise a tiny bit to find the sweet spot. Aguy who parks them all the time once showed me that when that happens simply get back in the truck and put your foot on the brake move the transmission into neutral for a second and then back to park. The pin now slides out effortlessly. I don't remember why he said it works but it had something to do with taking pressure off of a part on the hitch. If you have had this problem try it, it works.

The reason dryer sheets work on bugs is the fabric softener. I use a mix of a few drops of Dawn dish detergent, an ounce of ammonia and an ounce of Downey fabric softener. Put it in a quart spray bottle and fill with water. Spray on the surface you're trying to clean and wipe with a microfiber cloth.

For protecting and conditioning our windshield I simply use automotive paste wax. Rub on, Rub off. It also lasts longer than those products that claim to work wonders but don't. I haven't tried the Turtle Wax Ice yet so how they would compare I can't honestly compare. I will however try the dryer sheet example for cleaning my windows. Keep up the great work. I have watched several other videos from other RVers but yours have been by far the best presented and helpful of them all.

Have you ever thought of high rise tail lights might be a really good safety item? Let me explain , I had a friend that rear ended on i60 Mesa, Az and totally ruined his 5 th wheel by a semi truck that was following another car.car between them. He did not see the brake tail lights on & could not slow down fast enough. This is the reason I bought a pair of 17” led 3 wire and installed them up high enough that could easily seen. Since I have done this, 3 other buddies have done the same. What do you think?…. I despise my stove/oven combo!!!looking for replacement appliances to use instead. I do not like gas. I have a fear it will do something while I ignite the flame. When i was about 8, 2nd grade. I was the "projector" person. I got to switch the projector from image to image, while hearing the recorded narration to them. One of those teacher pet things, yet i rarely had this opp. When i went to plug the projector in, it was a big thick plug in my small hand, i remember the grip, and releasing that grip when the plug made contact inside that box, the 4th of july happened right in my face and around my arm and hand. To say I am gun shy of electricity is an understatement! To this day i have a fear whenever i plug anything in.

I bought a square ceramic non glazed tile for my oven. It cracked in half and the first or second time I used it. But now whenever I go to use the oven I just make sure I push it together and it works just fine even with the crack. I may been on a bread and cookies a couple of days ago And it works just fine. It's been in there over a year now.

Thanks for posting this. I appreciate the added tips. FYI, any fabric softener sheets will work for the bugs.

Having full timed for a few years now, we carry a spray bottle of 50/50 water and Clorox. I spray the water faucet with it before and after when we leave. I have seen folks wash their sewer pipe up under the water faucet that you connect your fresh water to. These same people normally don't use gloves either and so their dirty hands are all over everything they touch. Also spray down the picnic table as well. We have seen people lay their sewer hoses, etc. across the table. Food for thought!

Great tips!! Thanks. For the oven, I use an upside down aluminum pie plate to help distribute the heat.

Seems like a silly question but I have never used my rv oven...do you put your baking dish right on the stone/cookie sheet/pie pan to bake?
@lorilust6150

@@bethsavel1695 I use the pie plate. Yes I put the dish directly on the pie plate. Still need to watch carefully, but have had good success.

Here’s a tip from a veteran watcher of your channel: Have your family show up in your videos every once in a while. 😊 We’d love to see them. If they are too shy, then a still picture is fine. Say hello to them for us!😊

Jared. Thanks for the channel, I really enjoy it and have picked up many useful tips from you. Years ago I worked for a car dealership and the detailers there used fine steel wool to clean hard to remove particles from windshields...BUT, they used it with a lubricant (kerosene or a kerosene type material IIRC), which made a lot of sense to me. Of course it adds a step to the process by having to clean the residue of the lubicant, but these guys with a lot of experience swore by the process. And it really did work!

A thing i like to use for bugs on the front of my vehicle is one of those sponges that has that type of net over it. I'm meticulous and it works for me. Doesnt scratch. Can use little water.
