A simple sciemce trick for kids with water.
Build a bridge between two glasses using two plastic cards. Place the glasses a little further apart than one card and try to build a bridge without any extra materials. This will not work. The cards will fall down, or there will be a gap between them.
If you fill the glasses to the top with water, the bridge will be done in seconds. Why does water behave like a magnet?
When we put the card on the surface of the water, the water wets it, which means that the molecules of the water are attracted to the molecules of the card. At the same time, the water molecules are attracted to each other. This attraction between the molecules of substances keeps the cards on the edge of the glasses.
