Loved this project. Living in Florida I’ve done this numerous times but for Christmas using metallic paint and some glitter. Drilling a hole and adding a hanger its really pretty on a tree especially with a light behind it. I never thought to do like this and can’t wait to try it. Thank you for this nice idea.
So pretty Ceri! They actually sell shells like these seasonally in the decor stores here in the states, like hobby lobby, and even Walmart carries them in the florals. Love the shading you achieved on them. My bf growing up, her Mom was a decent artist and she used to paint lighthouses or seascapes on shells like this. They were beautiful. My Mom in her kater years did an all things lighthouse small Christmas tree and those shells had a place of Honor of course.
Thank you for sharing your talents. Very nice. Patients. Wow. I am painting some scallop shells myself right now. I made a bunch of lady bugs for one of my sisters and myself. I also glued a bunch of shells together to make a peacock. Now I am going to get ready to paint some scenes on some of my shells. I will defiantly be doing some of these as well. Someone gave me a bunch of shells. Plus I collect a bunch since I live in Florida. My RV Park had lots of shells when I first moved here 11 years ago. Now there aren't many big ones left. Thank you again for sharing your talents.
These would be amazing as the centerpiece of a statement necklace. Smaller ones could be made for everyday wear. The colours could be made to match specific clothes.
Yes i us to by them stuffed sea shells in groceries but no more find this kind 😢 I look for them so long. Thanks for useful information.❤ Greetings from Florida
Very interesting and useful techniques. Mandela is the word you were looking for. Love you using old book pages for your palette paper. Genius! New subscriber.
Those are beautiful shells. My favorite is of course, blue. I love BLUE. They are all pretty. I’m actually slowly collecting shells, but I was going to use mine to make angels. I’ll have to save one for decorating and putting in my bathroom. What sealant would you recommend putting on to protect from the moisture in the bathroom? Have a great. Your PNW friend. Smile and be happy!
