What is a Driver?
Drivers (inverter, frequency converter, speed controller, driver) are electronic devices that enable electric motors to be actively controlled in the industry. When we say active control, we are talking about speed control, direction control, torque and current controls on electric motors at any time. This means a great deal of control by the driver over the electric motor.
Drivers (inverters) can generally be produced as 200-240 V AC single-phase input or 380-480 V AC three-phase input or 540 V DC with direct DC supply.
In electric motors control drivers, there are input and output terminals connection control, overload, over current, under and over voltage, over temperature, short circuit, control of defined field operating conditions (io board) and such protections.
How to Use the Driver?
There are many types of drives due to their production and usage patterns. The most important resource that needs attention and help while using them is the user manual of the driver.
How Does the Driver Work?
The driver (inverter) converts the 3-Phase AC voltage applied to its inputs to DC voltage with a rectifier circuit, and converts the obtained DC voltage to AC voltage by changing the frequency of the inverter circuit, allowing speed, direction, torque and current control on electric motors. All of these processes are done with microprocessor control.
