Thank you for showing the whole process of making a naked Junk TN! I need to just do it and not overthink it so much. You make it look so easy because of all your practice and experience. You're a great WOW! (MOM upside-down)!!!
You're a COOL WOW was supposed to be my clever play with words, but I blew it~HA! I remembered my QUESTION: Why did't you use the foil card stock you trimmed and folded during the fast forward? Beacause it had a fancier fold...looked like a trifold for a flip out? Curious....
I love this video. I overthink everything, and if I don't take these basic steps, I'll never get past my frustration level. I'm going to make one of these now just to prove to myself that I can. The DT JJ Challenge has kicked my butt for almost a month now. I've scrapped my efforts four times. I've learned a ton of ways that haven't worked, but I've been delighted with the things that have. The key component is the scrapbook paper it seems, and without any, the project is extremely challenging for a newbie like me. TFS 💖🦋
Jessica you make my day! I was at my lunch time earlier today at the office and I look at your video...you know what!! I have almost the same paper as you and yesterday I was doing a journal just for fun and was not to happy with it...but today you gave me so much idea and I realize that I am trying to hard. I love your inspiration. Thank you so much! Your such a good person! Merci beaucoup Jessica! xxx
I love this and the simplicity. I use a phone book to punch my holes. I have a video on it if you want to check it out. It makes it easy to get the holes through the center. It's labeled "preparing signatures" in my making a journal from cover to cover series
This is a great tutorial! I love looking at all the flip through's but I wanted to see a tutorial from the beginning. Yours is simple but beautiful. I think I can do this one. TFS.
Hi Jessica, thanks, l loved this tutorial. I have been collecting stuff to start making journals but haven't made a start yet. This looks to be the perfect starting place on which to build my ideas. Thanks for sharing xx
"Why (k)not?" Good pun! Thanks for the tutorial! I have learned so much from you and appreciate that you show us how to make these journals ourselves. I have really enjoyed making my first junk journal for the Dollar Tree challenge.
I am new to junk journals and loved this video. I love to diy and craft and will be creating my first junk journal soon. So excited. Tyfs! Hope to stay connected.
sigh.....Off I go back to the craft store to get one of these cool paper cutters you’re using here. Beautiful video, thanks for sharing. I just love the whole junk journal idea but I haven’t made one yet. This may set me on course....
I love this tutorial!!! It's a great journal project for when we don't have a lot of time!! And they will make cute gifts!! I have one question...where is the pretty pastel envelope from - the one on the inside cover??
Ok...I was lost at "let's sew these." The last time I sat behind a sewing machine was in 9th grade Home Ec. class....and I'm currently 67. I'll use double sided tape or glue.
Rebecca Brockway hello! I have a ton of “journal with me” videos showing how I journal. On fabric pages, I would staple on a photo or add some paper layering...so many options! Thanks for watching
Cute journal! I like how fast you put it together. I do wonder, though, how one can use the envelope since you sealed it shut and did not indicate making another opening....
I think she said something about cutting the side of the envelope at the top to make an opening, so you can still use it even if it is sealed "properly". Hope this helps :)
I'm soo gonna try this this weekend! Your video is great, so easy to follow. Do you think its possible to bind it with a sewing machine if I'm just using thin papers? Like sew the whole middle?
Very nice! What kind of thread did you use in your machine? Looks extra thick. Have made a couple of these, same height but made them the full 12 inch wide so I wouldn't end up with so many more scraps. TFS
Hi Jessica, this TN is so easy to make, thanks mainly to your very polished instructions. Did you end up cutting that envelope down a side or top to create a pocket? TFS xoxTania
Love your video and journal, a newbie, never "sewn" cardstock before, do I need a special needle on my sewing machine or special thread or tension? Thanks so much, Awesome!!
