@@recordlabeldao7820 It will all soak in and/or evaporate eventually - I usually let the guitar sit overnight after conditioning the fretboard both like this and after a full strong change/setup
I done this with my 6 string basses since i change string once a year i applye oil 2 times when i first oil to make sure its protected i use daddario lemon oil on my rosewood and wenge fretboard and qtips its perfect
Honestly i would never recommend to do this as the gunk and oil you move around with the qtip will get into the strings, making them last much less than they would. Besides you just need to do this 2/3 times per year at best unless you live in a VERY and i mean VERY dry place (like in a desert area). So for 90% of people out there, just do it when you restring your guitar, allowing the oil to soak for about 10 minutes and then dry the excess up with a microfiber cloth.
Wow these really are out of stock everywhere at the moment! When I find them again, I'll try to remember posting here. I think I bought the three-pack direct from Gibson last time but even Gibson doesn't have them now ☹
So another option here is to use for example the Dunlop Lemon Oil. You can dab that a few times on a paper plate and then mop up the puddle with the Q-Tip and then apply. Or you can buy any other kind of conditioner and transfer the liquid to a small eye-dropper bottle you can buy on Amazon for example. I've done that with the Luthier's Choice polish. Dumped it into a small glass eye-dropper bottle.
I'm going to do it while my old strings are on there and then change one string at a time cuz I have a Martin D12 and a Gibson Electric ESS something just like Roy orbison's I can never remember the thing that I definitely don't want to take the strings off once I took the strings off my 12 string Martin and I had to take it to a Lithia cuz the neck did something weird I called Martin they said they're made out of wood but don't worry they're guaranteed for life nothing like a Martin I love my Martin and my gifts and still has the original strings on it I put on 15 years ago so I'm going to change them I really will
