Video delayed slightly by an accident at 300mm/s.....
A bit of a ramble, but I wanted to share my thoughts on the Simplecore Legacy after finishing my build. Overall, I like it, but there are definitely a few things that could use improvement on the machine.

Nice review! And it seems like a fair take on the machine. Looking forward to your modding adventures!

At this point in time, my only real plan is to convert this build into something else. I did film a video converting the printer to use trident style leadscrew Z which I might upload in a month or so...

Is there anything limiting the height of the gantry? (other than the length of the belts) Seems like it can be higher to add some Z height.
@mitsubishimakes
@mitsubishimakes 7 месяцев назад
With longer Z rails and belts you could raise it up higher, for sure.

@@mitsubishimakes gotcha! but is there a reason on a build like yours with 500mm extrusions that it can't be a tad bit higher? I have some 500mm from an older printer that I would like to use for a SimpleCore wondering if I can get at least 275mm in the Z axis. Thanks!!!

@@JoseChambrot The reason that we dont typically move the gantry higher is because the machine is designed to be easily enclosed. If enclosed, there would need to be enough space above the toolhead for the wires to go, while still being below the top of the frame. If you arent enclosing, theres no reason you couldn't move the gantry up to gain more Z height in the same frame
@JoseChambrot

@@mitsubishimakes That makes perfect sense! I don't really intend to enclose it...thanks for the info!

What is the maximum speed this type of h-bot can reach without losing print quality?
@mitsubishimakes
@mitsubishimakes Год назад
Hi, this is not an H-bot printer at all, rather it is CoreXY. CoreXY motion systems can go extremely fast, but since my printer is so large I probably wont be able to go over 150mm/s at around 4K accel
