Mick's voice is PHENOMAL! this song is about his mom leaving him & his father when Mick was 3 years old he always believed she'd come back but she never did. He was greatly influenced by Motown and is known as the Blue-eyed Soul singer! Check out some of his live concerts from then and now - Still has that VOICE!!! Especially check out his 1992 LIVE concert performance!!!

The story in the video is he was in an abusive home as a kid. He is just now leaving the town as an adult, probably because he kept holding on the memory of his hard childhood. The lady is his teacher that he remember seeing with his father or somebody she shouldn't have been caught with.

Good stuff from the 80’s! Simply Red had several great songs! This was my fav, but I did love the remake of Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes “If You Don’t Know Me By Now”! Mick has such a soulful sound! Love his voice!! I’m usually here just for Home Free, but I see you react to all kinds of really good music artists! I’m going to have to dive into the rabbit hole and sample some of it! Love Classic Rock and 90’s Alternative!! That’s my original music choice prior to A Capella. ☺️ It’s still my #1 choice.

RED HAIR .....SIMPLY RED...THEY CALL HIM RED ....Everybody, when they were a child, falls in puppy 🐶🐶 LOVE with their TEACHER, I did in fourth grade....it breaks your little heart when you see her with a lover ...That's him peeking behind the tombstone and see her with him... it breaks his little heart .....Maybe the second broken heart...first is when his mother left him at 3 years old. At the beginning of the video that's his mother when looking out the window ...It is a true story from what I am told it's a very heart-wrenching song of lost love. the pain in the song shows thru it all ....I'll keep holden on ❤ ❤ I pray he has found love THAT DOES NOT HURT SO BAD.
