"Sunrise" is hands down one of his catchiest songs ever. Think you'd really vibe with it!

The album/CD Stars was probably one of the band's most popular if THE most. Really came at a time when the band were at the peak of their fame, because I always remember the album remained pretty high in the album charts for a large number of weeks. Other really good albums from Simply Red include: A New Flame, Love & the Russian Winter.

Your description of the lead singer's voice sounds about right, because a lot of their music was quite soulful. Just a little bit of information for you: the name Simply Red came about purely because of the colour of his hair. Him is the lead singer who is Mick Hucknall. Mick himself hails from the North West of England and in particular the Manchester area but some of the other band members have changed over the years. Mick is a supporter of both the UK Labour Party and Manchester United Football Club. But in more recent years Mick has unfortunately been diagnosed with long COVID.

As a long-time SR fan, I’m in the minority here: I never took to this song. In my humble opinion, it’s one SR’s weaker tunes. The arrangement took the soul out of Mick’s voice from my vantage point. Y’all enjoy, though. ✌🏽
