Looks like an amazing trip. Love the sunsets and the remoteness. Just a thought tho, it would be nice to see those natural and wild places without all the sticker graffiti.

Nice idea to leave the hood open to cool down. Next time will remember to do that. Rooma

Awesome adventure 😎 I think it's the sensor on the rear brake that would have lit up the dash cluster Can't wait for the next one Greetings from south africa 🇿🇦

Good work. Fastastic aerial shots. 👍 As for firewood, I've been wondering about that too. As you've said, in Nat Pks you're not allowed to take anything from it (or bring pets). But I've seen time and time again on RU-vid from others whom have crossed it, that they use wood found on the desert for camp fires. That's why I thought, maybe it's exempted (for fallen tree/wood) for the Simpson.

What's going on with the crazy angle on that airbag? With all the $ you've got wrapped up in your troopy why cheap out running massive offsets or rear wheel spacers that fully expose your rear brakes?

Looks like a great start to an epic trip. Good storytelling through fantastic editing. 👍 BTW, does the 78 Series come with an OBDII (OBD2) port?
@HammerRocks
@HammerRocks Год назад
Yes it does. So a OBD2 scanner is handy to have as part of your parts gear, for every vehicle with this port.
@outbackexplorer4138
@outbackexplorer4138 Год назад
Hey mate, yes it does have an OBD2 port, and I do carry a OBD2 reader with us but it didnt pick up the error code we were having :( we are looking into a better one!

That brakeline.... Surely you can't be the only ones with this set up. Must be more out there with the exact same problem about to happen.

Air bags are a poor substitute for suspension upgrades and should not be relied upon to replace a proper spring/dampner package. More trouble than they are worth. In 45 years of off-roading, I continually hear of issues with them. Might be fine for carting heavy shit to the tip in suburbia, nothing but trouble in the real world like the Simpson. The salesmen whom swear by them, the same ones that suckered you into forking out ya money, have never used them off-road. The theory is fine if the axle is going up and down in a vertical plane, but off-road that is not the case as cross axle movement, one up one down, will always tilt the bags and move them out of alignment.

Mate, mount your desert flag on the rear. It helps with driving fatigue on a week or a month long trips. I'm sharing my humble opinion from experienced, thanks.

I don't even run an antenna on the front any more. UHF is on the rear swing away. It's much better.

Hey mate what do you think of the Yokohama tyres compared to the maxxis? What’s better and how many k’s did you get out of the maxxis?

Hey James, I previously had Nitto trail grabblers. We got 55,000 kms out of them, cant comment on the yokohamas yet as they're still super new thanks for watching!

Being RU-vidrs you'll have a laptop. Why not run Techstream and a $30 OBD2 cable to diagnose and/or clear ECO codes?
