Simpson Ghost Bandit Motorcycle Helmet! - First Look 

Such a solid helmet, been running this for 2+ years, liked it so much decided to get a second! Good vid dude 🗽⚡️

I've had mine for at least a few hundred miles and think I'm safe to say I love it by now. I ride with a windshield so I can't comment on how well the vents work since I don't get much wind in my face, but its comfortable and has the features I wanted and I can't think of a better looking helmet.

I really appreciate the close ups! Trying to decide if i want to drop nearly $500 bucks on a helmet (with extra visors/pin locks) and i cant physically touch one (no shops in my area carry them in stock) this is definitely the next best thing!

Just bought one - black and silver stars and stripes. My head calls for small - I'm 5'4" tall. If he normally fits XL but comes up L in a Simpson then seems to me helmet runs large rather than small as stated at the beginning of the video. Lots of padding around cheeks squashes you a bit but my previous helmet was I think too big. Looks awesome.

Just ordered my ghost bandit size Large in the same Gloss black set up with a dark smoke visor on amazon with a ton of gift cards I been saving up from work. Should be here this Wednesday! Super stoked honestly. Only had to pay 200$ for the visor and helmet it self from my own pocket.

How interesting..never heard of it until this video..but best believe I'll be checking it out!

Is there a clear interior visor? I would rather have the exterior blacked out and then flip over to clears on the inside if need be

I have had the ghost bandit since October and absolutely love it. I originally got the Biltwell Lane splitter sense it looked identical to the ghost bandit and it was cheaper. Horrible decision that helmet was so uncomfortable and loud I hated my life lol.

Great review, I was advised against this lid because of the venting. It's gets really warm and humid here, similar or hotter than Florida. I'd like to hear what you think after riding during the summer months. Thanks for all the fun videos.

This would be the retro helmet for me. Some of you younger guys may not know, but Simpson has been selling moto helmets since the 70s. My first helmet in 1977 was a Bell Star knock-off by a little Japanese company called Shoei, then I purchased my second helmet in 1980 when Simpson created the Model 30 which is what this is styled after. We called it the Darth Vader helmet...they came in white, black, or silver. A couple years later I bought their Model 60, a bit more refined and "normal" looking....very plush for their time. This is a much nicer offering than their current M30.

I have a Biltwell Lane splitter, pretty simiar and I love it.

I don’t know why but when I lift my visor it’s scratching the hell out of my helmet. Tried bending the visors but no luck 😔

I like my moduler. Something about raising the chin guard makes it nicer at lights. My one trade-off, I have to wear a helmet.

They make a gold exterior shield for it but I have only seen it on Simpson’s website, I just ordered it for my flat black ghost bandit

Sweet helmet and good review, you should look into investing in a B Roll stabilizer for those nice close up shots, feel like it would help boost the edit quality a bit. Keep up the good work and stay safe!

Dixxon flannels are awesome for riding! Warm enough for a Los Angeles winter night.

Had one of these on order for weeks in the U.K. still waiting. Not sure if I should change to a size smaller now. I normally run a M. Might order a small too and send it back.

Great looking helmet. Reminds me of a 70s drag racer helmet. Not sure why you’d want to lock the visor. Drag racing speeds, maybe but on a motorcycle?

No, I think they do run large. I usually wear a medium for helmets, but I need a small when it comes to the bandit.

That's strange since the Simpson website says the Ghost runs small and to size up if in between sizes.

Run big means you have to go down a size because your normal size “runs big”. Run small you go a size up because your normal size “runs small”

IF you have the quarters in your piggy bank get one ! I am not a full face guy but this helmet changed me.

Hey y'all im thinking about getting a motorcycle. But im really tall so im concerned how comfortable ill be on the bike. I want a bike mainly for the ride ,but wont have a problem on gravel. Any recommendations

I USED TO order the shell, have it custom painted, returned to simpson for final assembly. pretty cool.

The Venom here (same helmet) is smaller than normal. I wear always M….now it is so smaal i dont get it off my head! I do need a Large!!,

Called Orlando Harley Davidson they didn't have any Simpsons in stock. Had to go to J&P. The helmet is well worth the trip.

it sucks you just cant get a helmet that dosent have the company logo plastered all over it or atleast it be a removable decal so you could take it off

Actually Revzilla says to order a size smaller.... but that video is 3 years old. I called them in July of 2019 and was told that Simpson re worked their tooling on this model and the helmets fit more true to size now.... UPDATE, my head measures 57-1/2 CM. That is at the high end of medium on their chart. I ordered the Ghost Bandit in medium and it fits just about perfect. My head is an oval shape. I never thought I would be in a medium, always bought large in the past to avoid pressure points at the forehead etc. now that they make oval shaped helmets I realize my true size is a medium, at least in this case....

Tried out this helmet at my local Harley Dealership.. im a round oval shape, couldn't find a size that fit me. it was so weird. helmet is totally my style, so sad I couldn't find one that fits! don't sacrifice style for comfort people, eventually you will regret it!

I like the way it looks but that's it. Few criticisms: it's loud at highway speeds, I put a small crack in the visor trying to take it off, it fogs up easily (guess I need pinlock insert), the chin strap snap is very close to the side and difficult, the visor movement is clunky. Recently switched from bell vortex I had for five years. This Simpson ghost bandit is inferior in almost everyway.

That means they run smaller than most helmet sizes because you needed to buy a smaller size (large) then your Shoei (Xlarge)

I'm somewhat claustrophobic and the raised area around the nose bothered me compared to the Bell helmets I normally wear. I received a Ghost Bandit as a Christmas gift so I'm determined to overcome the claustrophobia. A quick release on the strap seems to help. I see a debate as far as sizes compared to other helmets. I normally us a large but with the Simpson I went to an XL and swapped out the cheek pads to the XXL for a little more room.

From a perspective of safety, there is really no point in getting a full face hamlet without a Snell rating. Might as well use a halfshell.

Run small

Simpson only complements the Trail rider and cafe racer - not Easy riders. Wearing a Simpson bandit on a sportster 48 don't feel right . I have an original Simpson - very narrow vison - old school. London cops always confiscated them. The state deemed them unsafe and contraband. After 25 years the old school riders break out the noble Simpson. The cops don't notice anymore. I am proud of my Simpson.

This helmet was such a disappointment. I got the most expensive carbon version and two months later I am getting something else. To anyone considering it, be aware that if you are used to other premium brands (agv, shoei, arai, etc) you will be extremely disappointed. The helmet looks cool, and is quite light, but that is about it. The noise is unbearable, as are the aerodynamics. It is literally only for low speed riding. The worst part is definitely the inferior quality compared to others in this price range. The visor does not seal properly, scratches extremely easily, the internals started to fall apart after a few uses, and what shocked me the most is when I realized that the EPS liner is made from segments which at some points were literally held together with tape. Finally, just so you know, even the most expensive carbon versions are made in China, which Simpson does not mention anywhere on their website. For the same price I am now looking at the Shoei X 14 (X spirit 3), which is on a completely different level in every single aspect.
