Whats wrong with giving him a respectful exit? They gave great recognition and appreciation for what he gave to the club, he saw this coming for a long time. Club was very good to him and vice versa. I see nothing embarrassing about this press conference.

I got to say I’m an eagles nuffy diehard, and after Simmos departure I just did not want to read any comments. I was absolutely devastated. But after I saw the love from Freo fans over their disgust over the Simmo West Australian article on Facebook… it almost moved me to tears (I was so appreciative). I could imagine these fans don’t want Eagles to win, but they put tribalism aside on this one thing and called out the disgusting rag for cheap-shotting a premiership coach like this. This would be like the Freo equivalent of sacking JL and the West saying “so long JL you one-kick wonder… thanks for nothing!!” (This is a reference to Longmuirs famous after the kick siren win). What the West Australian front page article did was so reprehensible towards Simmo that I think it is going to fold from bankruptcy (and good riddance) I love Freo fans so much and they are amazing dudes. I used to buy into the “I have to hate Dockers as an Eagle fan” mindset, but I have completely abandoned that mentality over the years. The disgust over this paper has united us despite our differences 👍
