Hy, I have a simrad go7 with a Navionics card i did not know what i make wrong but the sonar chart live did not make me live the cartography, some months ago was working, i need to activated also the record on trails or what going on..

Questions : My Lowrance unit I was able to do data overlay on my screens. Can we only have data on the side bar? Meaning coordinates, temperature, speed, etc. My Lowrance unit I had to customize each page. So I saw the data I wanted to on sonar screen, chart screen. Or any other display I said up How do I adjust my machine so my track marks always stay on? They save in the machine but I want to see them displayed every time I turn on my machine unless I delete tracks or schedule them for an amount of days for them to delete. This video is great but when I used to have to look things up for Lowrance they had 15 minute tutorials on whatever I was looking for. I didn’t have to watch a one hour video. The Sim rad have anything like that. Examples were setting up data overlay, setting up radar overlay, setting up structure scan. Etc.

I am having trouble removing items from the data bar, next to radar. I can add items but the check marks stay ticked when I try to remove them

I bought a new in 2018 Sportsman 282 w/twin 12" evo3's. Since day one have never been able to have my Simrad rs20 radio on and get the Yamaha gauge info to show. Radio off all yamaha info available. Radio on no info being sent????? Any ideas? Great videos by the way. 2 1/2 years and still learning how to run these computers. I'll be digging into the Nmea backbone next.

Sean….I have a pair of evo3 12in. I have a Yamaha gateway. When I turn on my evo3, I get an alarm message saying “Standard Maintenance Due”. I had the standard 100 hr done on my F300XCA last month. I have been through the yamaha command link gauge and reset all alarms to 0. I have been through the alarm settings on the evo3 and set all to 0. The message does not appear on the yamaha gauge screen. But the text is the exact text that is in my yamaha gauge manual. So I think the alarm is coming from the Yamaha side. But I can not figure out how to get rid of the pop up alarm on the evo. My Yamaha dealer has no idea. He says it’s in the evo settings. Please help Thanks, Larry

Will the Total Scan All in One work with the 3D Structure scan? I’m thinking of getting the Module

Hi Frank. Unfortunately the 3D Structure Scan transducer is different from the TotalScan transducer. The 3D transducer has additional send and receive elements that give it the additional data for the additional dimension. They do sell the module and transducer separately in the unfortunate event that something is damaged during a trip out on the water, but they generally bundle the module and transducer as one product, which is better value for you.

MY EVO2 NSS FREEZES all the time especially when off shore. No able to get simrad on the phone. Any known Simrad tech in Marathon FLkeys.. If I want to change to Garmin do I need to change the sounder?

My new boat is having twin 12nss evo3 installed with halo radar auto pilot 3D structure scan and chirp all hooked into NMEA with twin verado 250 v8’s. Can’t wait to use it

Hello everyone! I just did installed the nmea2000 network and connected two Yamaha engine with simrad. All information is displayed fine but was wondering how could I set an anchor point to keep boat from drifting away. I only found how to set an anchor alarm but this does not communicate to the engines in order to maintain the boat to the anchor point. Anybody has any suggestions???

Please check with Yamaha to see if the function is available, as our autopilot do not offer that option with Yamaha motors.

Hi Mike - if you want them all connected so they can share charts and Transducers on the network, then the NSS Evo3 7" would be a great option.

Why is there no ability to have the side data (cruise, fish, etc) panel in chart mode? It’s available on all other screens.

Hey Joe. You get the ability to have different instrument panels displayed on different screens or even turn it off on others. The unit will remember this for you. On the chart page you may want to see navigation data including course track error/ speed over ground/ time to destination/ compass heading/ odometer etc and then when you get to your destination and change to the echo page, you may want to then see live well temperatures/depths/ water temperature and system voltages etc. To set each screen, press the power key once then select the instrument logo to turn the instrument bar/data bar on or off.

Hello. I have a Simrad Evo 3S hooked up to the Airmar TM 275LHW transducer. The MFD shows horizontal lines when stationary but they go away when underway. Can you advise on possible causes and fixes? Cameron

Sounds like an installation issue - or some interference of some sort. I'd slowing turn things off when you are on the water to try and isolate what that is. Alternatively send some screenshots to Simrad.tech@navico.com and they should be able to help

For the segment “ how to create a route with Navionics” (20:32) after you create the route how do you get your Simrad autopilot to “ automatically drive” the route? Mine only allows me to hold the heading and I cannot get my autopilot to drive the dock to dock route!

You can select the route and then select Start, it will then ask you to engage your autopilot

What plotter are you using? If you press on a route, you should have the Navigate option.

It would be super great if you could have all of the data display as an overlay like the temp and depth readings instead of data bar. I'd love to have my speed and distance to waypoint shown as an overlay along with the depth and water temp.

@@simrad-yachting Is that gonna be possible with an update coming soon? I ask because I've got an nss12evo3s on order, but I'm going to switch it to the Lowrance HDS12 Live cause I HATE having that data bar taking up so much of my screen real estate. If a Simrad update will give us the ability to make it an overlay and edit the overlay just like the Lowrance HDS Live units I'll keep it. Else I'm cancelling the order and going with the Lowrance unit.

i plan to purchase 3 nso-evo3s units, so i have dozen of questions….can i purchase one c chart to be used by all three units, or do i have to purchase one for each, is there a yearly upgrade fee?

Hi Russell, if all the NSO units are connect via ethernet, then you'll be able to see that Chart source on the network, and use it across the units. There is a yearly subscription if you want to keep the charts updated, however you do not lose any of the features if you don't.

Hey there, from the homescreen if you click on the Waypoints icon, on the left hand side under settings. From there you can say to show or now show waypoints etc.

For CH1 and CH2 you need ON.

If you have more than one unit and they are networked to each other via ethernet, then you'd need Multi-source on.

Because i dont see after 150 meters anymore even with low frequency. I see on arround 100 meters my fish leads about 200/300 grams I see on arround 150 meters my fish leads about 300/500 grams But i dont see after 170 meters even gain more then 90

Hoping someone might be able to help me. Trying to understand dock-to-dock routing on my NSS Evo3S. Simrad tech support has been totally useless and frustrating since each rep tells me something different and then gets bogged down/confused when stepping thru an example. Is there anyone who can help??? Would like to know if there's a way to do dock-to-dock routing by using existing waypoints? Thx in advance!

You can do dock-to-dock by inserting new waypoints. You cannot use existing waypoints for dock-to-dock.

Very helpful to know dock-to-dock can't be done with existing waypoints, but I'm a bit uncertain how dock-to-dock can be done "by inserting new waypoints". Might you be able to walk me through an example? What I'm really trying to do is create a dock-to-dick route when I can't find my destination by scrolling around the chart. For example, creating a dock-to-dock route from my home port to a marina I've never been to before. I can use the Find function to find the marina but not sure how to then use that point as my destination. Any step-by-step help would be most appreciated. I'm brand new to Simrad and have used Raymarine's auto-routing function previously. Love Simrad's more intuitive OS but just find the dock-to-dock a bit confusing and not well documented. Thx - Jim

Please make sure the blue cable (alarm out) in the power cable does not touch anything. When it's activate is a positive, so it can short and turn off the unit.

Anyone instaled on nmea2000 network the liquid sensor for fluel tank KUS liquid sensor NS5? Each videos for Simrad needs to calibrate the sensor, but yesterday i instaled this sensor on my simrad evo3s and dont need . Acuse imediatly full tank. Thanks

What do the 3 dashes mean on my depth status?

Hi Donald. It means that you unit doesn't have a source for depth (eg no transducer) or the transducer has lost a reliable/safe depth reading due to not getting enough accurate/clean transducer signals returned to the transducer. Generally you will see this when the vessel is out of the water or when your transducer is getting poor/no signal return from the ocean floor due to turbulence. By default there is a margin for safety that will restrict the unit from displaying a depth so that you aren't mislead which could cause you harm. I'd suggest consulting with an installer to help you tweak the transducer for the best results.

Hi Chad. If you press the menu key on the top right of the screen or unit, then go into settings, one of the first items you'll see on the right hand side is "Time". you can overlay radar onto chart but you need a heading sensor or magnetic compass (i think its a gs25)

Apparently, no one at Simrad understands the difference between an SD CARD and a MICRO SD CARD. All your manuals refer to SD Cards. YOUR SYSTEMS REQUIRE MICRO SD CARDS!! Extremely frustrating after multiple trips to Best Buy. SD Cards, and MICRO SD Cards, are relegated to the Camera Section of the store, as no one uses them. Computers no longer even have SD Ports. Why are you holding on to this obscure technology? This is an absolute pain in the butt when I should be able to download this wirelessly.

Software updates can be downloaded wirelessly, but you'd still need a micro SD card in the unit. All our new chart cards are micro SD card, although they are provided with a SD card adapter.

I agree -- simrad is losing it by not updating their tutorials. also, their existing tutorial is very poorly done, with glare on the screen and too fast delivery.
