Sims 2 vs Sims 3 vs Sims 4 - Worlds

In the sims 3 I was visiting a lot of places, but in the sims 4 I'm still playing in my house cause I hate loading screen

Sims 3 wins. The open world is amazing. I hate the loading screens in the sims 4. Even though the sims 3 can be laggy, I love the open world.

It's disappointing how EA downgraded their games from TS3 to TS4. When TS4 first came out, I expected more from the world map than just a B&W, divided map with no freedom at all and those infinite loading screens just to ring your neighbor's doorbell is just insane. I still play TS3 today, no matter how laggy it can get, it's still my favorite Sims game so far.

The Sims 3 had the best world, but I feel like The Sims 2 had the best stories, families and gameplay. Maybe it's just nostalgia, but I loved The Sims 2.

I could play The Sims 3 for HOURS without getting bored. I swear, I argued with my family everytime they needed the computer. The Sims 3 remains the best for me. Can't wait to buy it.

It still blows my mind that The Sims 2 came out in 2004. That game was revolutionary, it improved upon EVERYTHING the original game had. Probably the game I miss the most of all I played in my childhood.

I get bored easily playing The Sims 4. I find myself playing The Sims 3 for way longer and I recently got The Sims 2 collection from EA and it’s been a joy playing!

I'm a sucker for Sims 4 amazing graphics but such a limited world. wow 3 with the open world looks so cool.

Sims 3 wins. And not just because you can build an entire town from scratch, but if your sims are in two different places clicking the sim panel twice will get you to the other side of the town in just 5 seconds. Without loading screens.

Not gonna lie, I do like the aesthetic of The Sims 4, but when it comes to everything else... Sims 3 wins. Definitely. The open world just makes everything so much better. It makes the world a lot more alive. I never really got the Create-a-World tool to work, though. Meanwhile, Sims 2 has a lot of world customization options right in the game itself, which I find neat.

Sims 3 will always be my favorite. As someone who loves world building and playing god, the sims 4 makes me feel trapped and limited. Sims 2 gave me so many good memories and is definitely in 2nd place.

TS3’s open world just made it the most addictive thing ever. Every time I get a loading screen on TS4 I’m totally pulled out.

I've always been curious about the neighbors' house in the sims 2. That's why when the sims 3 came out it was such a delight that you can go anywhere

Sims 3 has the best because there is way more customization and freedom. Also in TS4, there are no basic lots such as a city hall, movie theater, or bistro.

I loooove how the sims 4 looks but two things that I personally think they should have kept in from sims 3 • Open world • Editing worlds Sims 4 would be so much better if these were in it other than the toddler stuff

I'm still playing Sims 3, I bought 4 but it's not really my cup of tea. I love to walk around the town and the possibility to re-paint all furniture and clothes like I want. That's the reason why 4 isn't my fav.

I'm not gonna lie, I miss the "Create Your Own Neighborhood" option from TS2 as well as the little career things that would pop up occasionally with a scenario for your Sim's career (I actually found those really fun). Never could get into TS4 but I'm playing TS3 right now.

TS2 was subjectively the most fun TS3 was the most customizable + Open World! TS4 is the most aesthetically pleasing Now if Maxis/EA could take all the things from 2, 3, and 4 and smush them into one game that would be something.

With that amount of money, professionals, and technology, we get a JPG world in The Sims 4.

The open-world in 3 is one of the reasons it's my favorite. I play big households and they are rarely all home at the same time. One might be reading at the library, and another is at the park, while another is putting out fires because he's a fireman. In 4, I rarely leave the house because I cant control all my household Sims if they aren't on the same lot

Sims 2 is legendary, Sims 3 is revolutionary and Sims 4 is a disaster.

Sims 3 is the winner! Open World, amazing lotes, you have a lot of options, and you can go to your neigbors and steel a lot of things.. oh wait, forget it xD

I loved sims 2 for Nostalgic reasons. It was the first sims game I bought and it totally blew my mind. I wondered what they could of possibly do that could make the game better. Then Sims 3 came out with an open world and that blew my mind because of how much the base game expanded. I didn't end up getting the game until 2 years after release due to money concerns but it still was fun to play and I still play it. Then I see the Sims 4 and I got excited, then I realize how much stuff they were taking away. That's the issue with TS4 is that while the other games mainly added a lot of stuff, TS4 got rid of everything that made the series enjoyable.

The Sims 4 is like a huge step back. Yeah I know that open world might be very overwhelming for PC, but almost everyone have a decent PC to run something like that.

I agree, sims 3 was definitely the best. Lately I've been very pissed off with the Sims 4 because they lack A LOT of stuff and you get bored of the game very easily, that didn't happen in the Sims 3. I enjoyed soooooooo much that game because it had a lot of stuff and I could spend hours and hours. Now the Sims 4 the style and the aesthetic is really cool, but that's it, the only cool things from the Sims 4 are the graphics and the emotions thingy, maybe a few little more things but that's it... I'm really dissapointed with TS4, it's been 4/5 years since they've released it and all their game last like 4/5 years so that probably means they're about to release TS5, and honestly I don't want to because they have a lot to fix in TS4, hopefuly they don't make the sim mistake for the TS5 and they improve it, if not then... :/

I love the sims 3 open world, probably because I'm kind of a control freak and I love to control my sims at all times so the feature of being in control of your sims while they're in multiple different places was a nice touch

I prefer Sims 3... My god, you can travel around the whole world with a freaking car/bicycle and stalk to teens and kids while they're on the way to school xD

Sims 2 is the best ever, great storytelling, excellent expansion packs, simplistic at it's best. Sims 3 is great - revolutionary. Unfortunately requires alot of power to actually enjoy playing without lagging and glitches. Never played sims 4.

In The Sims 2, I like that you are able to create and edit your own world. In The Sims 3, I like and scenery and the open world. In The Sims 4, it's The Sims 4.

My favorite is Sims 3, but I originally started playing Sims games with Sims 2, so it will always be one of my top sims games.

Sims 4 hands down the worst of the three. Sims 2 had so much variety in its items and furniture. Sims 3 clearly had the incredible open world where your sims were free to visit each other at home or at work. It felt truly alive. Sims 4 has none of that shit. EA banking on charging us for every little thing they drip feed into the game. Next thing you see, EA going to make the Fifa president in charge of Sims too, just like they did with Battlefield, Need for Speed and Battlefront.

The Sims 3 was the best game. I thought that The Sims 4 would be the mixture of 3 and 2, open world, emotions, recollections, etc. The Sims 4 looks like upgraded and modern The Sims 1... I love The Sims 3.

I started playing with sims 1 base game, then i bought all the expansions. Moving from sims 1 to sims 2, was like BOOM! really mindblowing, so much better! Then Sims 3 and 4 its like ok, its good, but it is not the same effect i had moving from 1 to 2. I hope you understand what im talking about, i dont speak english :p

this one is really hard. I love the complete customization freedom of sims 2, being able to create whatever i can dream of from the ground up. but the open world of sims 3 really is revolutionary. it completely changes the game play and how lots are built. sims arent trapped to live their lives on one lot in order to avoid loading screens. the world is a place to explore and with the world builder, one can customize in a similar vein as sims 2. downside, is it's more suited to playing only one family at a time since progress is lost whenever you switch from one family to another. i like the world system in sims 4 and think its a decent compromise between open world and loading screens. my sim isn't trapped on my lot and can explore my hood, and only hits a loading screen when visiting a neighbor's house or going to another part of the map. i can live with that. i dont like that i cant customize the world and make it my own. eventually, only being able to change the single stationary lots will get boring with every hood having the same view so... sims 3 wins

They all have their own specific advantages and disadvantages. I liked the detailed and pretty advanced interactions between sims and objects, for example remember the sims actually moved each piece while playing chess, and the pieces actually didn't just teleport like in the Sims 3 and 4. The sims 3 had a great open world and Create-A-Style, as well as the color wheel for hair, eye color, etc. The Sims 4 looks the best by far, aestethicgally. The neighborhoods in this game is also the most detailed, in regards of objects, effects, and the amount of sims walking around. I remember in the sims 3 late night you could go to a club, and a message popped up saying something like "wow! this place is hotter than the time *name*´s pants caught on fire!" and it was like 4 sims there. The ideal sims would be a combination of all, not just one. They all have pros and cons, glitches, loading screens, lag, etc. The sims 2, looking back, is of course not very smooth, because of its age. The sims 3 didn't look bad at all when i got it, but now the flaws are really showing, the sims' eyes look dead, the hair doesn't look very smooth and quite thin, and there is no shine, and the high light didn't really look good. The sims 4 lost the color wheel and the ability to choose patterns for clothes and furniture, but the clothes look really good compared to the other 2 games. Furthermore the hair looks shiny, there is life in their eyes and we can pull and push the bodies as we please. give me interactions from the sims 2, the open world and Create-A-Style from the sims 3, and the graphics and aesthetics, as well as world design from the sims 4. I think that covers all my thoughts about the topic

Sims 3 is the pinnacle of sims, if you think sims 4 is more iconic, GET OVER YASELF. SIMS 3 HAS POOLS, EXPLORING NEIGHBORHOODS WITHOUT LOADING SCREENS, A FEATURE WHERE YOU CAN CREATE YOUR OWN TOWNS, MORE REALISTIC SIMS.

it caused so many pains for the games optimisation (just bc it wasn't made well not by nature of being open world), but sims 3 worlds just feel so expansive and impressive looking at them from a bird's eye view like that. meanwhile even the lots themselves in sims 4 feel small and just..fake

Sims 3 because you don't have to wait a loading screen and you can walk everywhere (fast and easy), but I also loved the way you can design the world on Sims 2. In fact, I hate sims 4 for that two reasons (I only like the image quality).

*The Sims 5* : TS1 music + randomness, TS2 gameplay + cutscenes + storytelling, TS3 open world + create-a-style, TS4 create-a-sim + emotions + multitasking Fingers crossed. ✌️

If there was a mixture between all of them, like the The Sims 3's open world, The Sims 2 and 3's editing abilities, and the graphics of The Sims 4, I would have my perfect game. Unfortunately I will need a super computer to actually run that XD

I miss Adding Lots and creating worlds so much in Sims 4. They limited the game so massively, it's actually sad. Maybe they'll combine all the good stuff from 2 3 and 4 in Sims 5.

The sims 5 need to be sims 4 graphics, sims 3 open world with the parenting options and memories, and the sims 2 everything else

In think all the Sims versions are winners 💪🏼😂 I'm just saying it cuz I can't decide 😂 they get more beautiful every new Sims, but I still love sims 2 and 3 and 4 💙💙

Asthetically obviously sims 4... For nostalgia and how I play sims 2... Practicality would be sims 3. They're all winners in their own way.

Sims 2 worlds were my favorite! I had my own custom neighborhood I built myself with tons of districts. It was awesome! I only played Sims 3 base game and gave up on it after it appeared to offer no customization and I hated that when the Sims went to a community lot they just disappeared going inside. Sims 4 is fun and reminds me a lot of Sims 2 (you can go into an indoor community lot) and the good parts of 3 but it sadly offers no customization either but I live a busy life now I was a teenager when Sims 2 came out so...I don't mind so much.

Sims 2 : I liked the design of the towns and the fact that you dont need to download anything to create a custom town. I liked that you can design premade towns as well. What i didnt like about 2 was that you needed to go in a loading screen in order to go somewhere. And that sims cant travel to other towns ( with the exception of vacation downtown shopping district and college. I give sims a 3.7 \ 5 Sims 3 I like the design of the sims 3 towns and i also like that you dont have to wait in a loading screen. I really like the buildings in 3 better than 2. I like that your able to go to more places in your town than 2. Yes you can add buildings in 2 but i think 3 had better detail with the towns. I wish you could have already been able to build neighborhoods. 4.8/5 Sims 4 I like that Sims 4 let you move from one town to another. I also like the movement of the trees. But i wish they would have stuck with the same thing 3 with visiting places without loading screens. But in the sims 4.

As much as I liked the sims 3 open world, it made my game lag a lot just from trying to load or run it.

Why didn’t you include sims 1 neighborhood map view ? It was kinda similar to sims 4... but with Nessie popping out from time to time!

If you have Sim City 4, you can use the small maps to design an entirely new neighborhood map from cratch and import it to The Sims 2, though it would be flipped and mirrored for some reason...

Who remembers Sims 2 on DS ?

Combine Sims 4 Sim creation/Building/Emotions + Sims 3 Openworld feature/Color,Texture Everything with anything/Likes and Dislikes as well as wide variety of traits/All Expansion Packs + Sims 2 everything about Cars(The way you open the doors and everything)/Cinematic cutscene every events/Ingame World Creation/Community lots = A PERFECT SIMS GAME!

I loved the open world of sims 3 and how everyone aged at once, but at the same time i hated that i couldnt play different households in the same world without changing save file. and by doing that it would either start from scratch again or you would lose all your wishes and work youve had on done on the previous family. Thats why I liked how i could play every household in stages throughout the worlds of sims2. But then again having every household other than your own not age had its own story flaws.

3 was and always will be IT... hate how you literally need to buy a gamepack for everything with ts4, also cars, customisation, amount of playable lots are sorely missed

Actually, who does give a dam about the animation and graphics?? As long the back story is good, I know I am annoying, but forever, the sims 2 will be the best, you gotta at least play it once to understand! The mysterious story of Strangetown, my favorite town of the whole game, so mysterious.... And the Pipettes, what are they doing with that poor man, the connexions between the neighbors, Like the general that is looking after the Gubres, because its a family of aliens, The Lalouche (sorry my game is french) The family of 3 scientist brothers that get pregnant of an alien and gotta take care of it all together! And who is in the Chimere's cimitery??!! is it really her family, or people that she might have kill in her life, so many questions!

Winner is SIMS 3, but in Sims 3 could be more beautiful charcters and graphics...

Sims 3 is by far the best ....no loading screens more entertaining in the city and better building modes
