In this The Sims 4 tutorial I show you how to connect rooms with different foundation heights. The recent patch made it possible to adjust individual foundations pieces/rooms to different heights but it was impossible to connect the rooms. In this tutorial I show you a litte workaround that make split level homes possible!

I don't know why Sims doesn't allow us to do split level like what is the issue with that?

Melody Brown I’m not entirely sure but I thought that that’s a feature they want to add but they also wanted to release the new foundation system. They’ve said that split level is something that they want to add, hopefully soon.

It is not working. It is deleting my roof of the first room when I put my foundation of the second room up

That's what I was trying for. It won't work. The roof removes every time i raise the level

Literally I keep trying to add a garage but the foundation keeps raising it and the same with my fence

Attention: It was brought to my attention that the December 18th patch causes the roof to be deleted when the foundation is raised. I am already working on a fix and will release a video for an updated version as soon as I figure something out! ___ Hey guys! I already mentioned it in the video but want to say it again here because I know this will be a concern some will have: Rain, snow, cold and so on did not affect the Sims in this room/house so weather is not an issue and it works like a normal room! :)

They must have changed something in the past year because, no matter what I do, the roof will be deleted.

if the roof can't be place where foundations meet just extent the roof trim so it is inviseble

Amazing. And tbh, I think EA should really broaden their building capabilities. Things like split rooms, round stairs, leveled stairs ( a stair that can be elongated or shortened vertically for split room purpose) and many more building tricks for us creative builders would be appreciated.

a fence is a lot easier, just start the fence in the opposite corner of where you want it to connect to the house. so instead of going from the house to the end of the fence location, do it the other way around, towards the house.

That does not work anymore. As soon as I try to drag the building in hight the roof turns yellow and disappears.
