Join my weekend scruffyness and stuffy nose in the shop as I show you how to do some basic butt joint panel lines using 1/64th Chart Pak tape. :-) Link for Chart Pak Tape rcscaleproducts.com/products-p...
Hi Mike I was going to ask the thickness of tape, but notice you have it in the video description. For cowl parting lines at 1/5 I have tried 1/32nd and prefer slightly more definition. 1/5th is an odd size, smaller models then I use 1/64, larger 1/32....... whatever floats your boat. Great video my friend.
Great video, there are other ways of achieving this, I don't bother with measurements and pencil lines and rulers especially on compound and complex curves and shapes - scale drawings can be printed on tracing or transfer paper or even standard paper but mirrored, place the drawing face down on the part and rub benzine or rubbing alcohol to transfer every detail exactly where you want it - I then use painter's blue vinyl tape which is a very flexible and can be stretched and lay it over the transferred lines on the airframe
Hi Dale, since model masters covers so well (its pigment is 1000 time finer than automobile paint) you only need two thin coats to cover an area. A 1/5th scale model like the P-51A will take about 8-10 vials of the OD green and 6-8 of the grey for the bottom. I buy them in bulk but yes they are in the small vials.
