In the perforation2 job you had given 40 m/s velocity to the ball and the total run time is 0.001. I gave the similar values and perforation could not happen. Then you immediately switched to the original perforation job which shows perforation of the shell plate. I tried with 150 m/s and finally, I got the perforation. How did you get the results and perforation with just 40 m/s velocity. Please explain. I would like to thank you for showing this wonder simulation. Can you perform the similar simulation on a solid plate of 15 mm thickness with the multiple impacts of 10 balls at the same spot?
i am modelling low velocity impact on composite plate with 8 layers. To reduce the simulation time I am considering q quarter model with two symmetry boundary conditions in x and y directional and fixed in other side. I am using a rigid impactor with some mass and velocity, my doubt is should I consider total mass of the impactor or 1/4 th mass of the impactor since i am taking only 1/4th model of composite plate.
Hey, I am working on a similar project. Could you let me know if your simulation works??? You are using VUMAT subroutine or explicit modelling with surface-to-surface contact?
