Sinbad in Shazaam genie movie - He admits 1990s film is real! 

Our whole generation remembers this movie and I know for a fact it wasn’t Kazaam, thats Shaq. It was Shazaam. We aren’t all trippin.

Shazaam was the whole reason why I even knew Sinbad existed. As a child, his comedy wasn't even on my radar. Martin and Shanaenae had my interest late nights after Married With Children was over.

Former blockbuster employee. Kazaam starred Shaq, cover was blue and had shaq arms folded. Shazaam starred Sinbad, cover was white, his outfit similar to shaq's but had more purple-ish color, there were two kids on the cover at the bottom, a boy and a girl. Sinbad had a more wacky pose, and was coming out of a foggy cloud, Above a lamp.

I don't give a damn if Sinbad won't admit the truth! That movie is real!!

I remember being a kid in the '90s watching Nickelodeon, and a commercial for Shaq's movie "Kazaam" came on, and I distinctly remember thinking to myself, "That's dumb -- why would they redo a movie that already failed only this time using Shaq as a gimmick?!" I also remember being a kid and looking at the Fruit of the Loom tag and thinking it's weird that my underwear tag reminds me of Thanksgiving [because in that timeline the tag had a cornucopia]. I also remember in high school being so annoyed that the car JFK was in when he was assassinated was called a "limousine" when it was only a 4-seater [in this timeline, it's a 6-seater]. Back to Sinbad, I remember being at Lanphier Park in Springfield, IL for minor league baseball, and the Springfield Sultans' mascot had a head that reminded me of Sinbad's genie character. Reality is shifting, and always has been. Physical reality is 99.9999999999% more likely than not a hologram. Modern quantum science is proving what ancient texts tell us, that this physical realm is an illusion. Quantum changes affect both micro and macro. People are waking up to their true spiritual selves.

I was born in 86 and it was my sister's favorite movie. I had no clue who Sinbad was ( at the time) I vividly remember thinking his genie name was "Sinbad " and how dumb she made me feel when I realized it was his real name. I kept assuming she was explaining the Shaq movie and we had a big spat over it. we realized we were talking about two different movies. I remember this so vividly; she passed away at 21 and those little moments are etched into my soul

I clearly remember thinking as a kid how weird and stupid it was that there was like 2 movies with genies and similar named titles out at the same time.

I brought this up at work, and several people who normally laugh about the Mandela Effect said they had seen the movie. I asked them if they were sure if they didn't mean Kazaam and they said no, Shazam with Sinbad.

I asked my dad if he remembers a movie that came out in the 1990’s and it was called Shazam and sinbad played a genie. He said yes he remembers it but then he laughed and said it was a flop in the box office. That’s probably why sinbad isn’t saying it exists cuz it flopped as a kids movie.

I remember both movies, they were VERY different, I also remember Sinbad the pirate. Shaqs movie ended where he was freed and left the kid an ice cream sundae, Sinbad's Shazam ended with him going back into the lamp, it was sad because we thought he died from the collapsed building after rescuing the boy, but he ended up being alive in the lamp, then a little girl picked up the lamp;this was like a set-up for a sequel. Very vivid memories of these movies

The Shazam! movie is real, but it was in a different reality, it was made in the 90's and I'll never forget Sinbad wearing those purple mc hammer style pants with the golden curled up shoes, he could cross his arms and nod his head to make things happen.

I just stumbled upon this whole Mandela thing and it's kinda freaking me out. I could swear I saw a movie with sinbad as a genie, seeing sinbad only confirms my memory it wasn't shaq. I sure as hell remember sinbad.

Here's the actual original plot of the movie. I remember the whole thing now. he film starts with Sinbad (genie) in his lamp/man cave. There were purple curtains or blankets on the wall. A large round bed and a TV across from it. Sinbad saunters over, sits on the bed with two waiting female genies hanging out with him. Sinbad says, “let’s see what’s on TV” and turns it on via remote. It zooms in as the opening credits roll on the TV. The song that played reminded me of the theme of THE ADDAMS FAMILY movie, but it wasn’t the same tune. I don’t recall hearing it on MTV or the radio, but if I heard it today, I’d know it. Once the credits are over, the main family is moving in to a new house because the dad got a better job. The son (12ish) automatically doesn’t like his neighbor because the boy over there (7ish) sprayed him with a squirt gun and made a face. The next-door kid also played Teddy, Michelle’s friend on FULL HOUSE. The new kid (I’m going to just call him John from now on, because I don’t remember his name), is about to walk over when his little sister (7ish) says, “leave him alone. He’s just a baby.” I loved that line because she was roughly the same age and I thought it was cute.  John brings a box to the attic and there he finds THEE lamp. He takes it downstairs and puts it in his room without telling anyone. John is a sassy and annoying kid who fights with his younger sister and complains his dad doesn’t care about him. I don’t know if I’m blocking the mother out or if this was just another child film where the mom is dead. When I think back, the father is difficult for me to pinpoint but it was an actor that’s been in other things. My gut tells me Sam Waterston, but he was in SERIAL MOM around the same time so I’m not 100% on that. John rushes off mid-way thru dinner complaining about missing his school and his friends. Most of the stuff is still in boxes, so he picks up the lamp and dusts it off. Sinbad emerges. He’s irritated and wants to go back in the lamp, but once he’s out he has no choice but to grant 3 wishes or he can’t get back in. At this point, the younger sis comes in and is about to scream when Sinbad covers her mouth. He says that he doesn’t want anyone else to see him because the more that do the more people he has to grant wishes to. (Never heard that genie rule before this film or after). I also don’t watch too many films about genies. John’s first wish is to go back to his old-school with his old-friends. Sinbad makes John hold on to the lamp so they won’t lose it. They begin their journey when Barbara Eden (cameo) starts coming out of the lamp and calling out to Sinbad- horrible CGI effect. She’s pushed back in the lamp. (She shows up periodically, but just a few seconds here and there and then at the ending credits)  As Sinbad is walking his necklace and bracelets gets tangled. He throws his jewelry away and kid sister picks it up, puts it on and looks ridiculous. (another of my favorite scenes) So the wishes are done SCROOGE style. At the school, John, his sister and Sinbad are unseen, but John sees his friends have gotten along fine without him and the girl he liked was with someone else. Sinbad asks if he wants the wish to be permanent. John says “no forget it.” Sinbad means to snap his fingers but says SHAZAM (I think that was the magic word and not Sinbad’s name in the film. Here, I may be wrong. I know it’s also a superhero’s magic word, but I think that’s what he said too.). After saying the magic word and screwing up it allows everyone to see them. Sinbad yells “RUN.” John yells at Sinbad calling him a horrible genie. Sinbad tells him it’s been awhile since he granted any wishes and to give him a break. The next wish is for John’s dad to spend less time at work. They show up during of his dad’s conferences and (again invisible) mess with the pie charts. They floated and moved in a circular motion. The sister protests, scared that her dad will get in trouble, but it backfires and the boss thinks it’s a magic trick that made the meeting boring into entertaining. The little sister’s first wish was that she was a fast runner because she couldn’t keep up when Sinbad and John were running. In a funny product placement scene, Sinbad walks in without being invisible and just buys her a pair of Nike Air running shoes. Not sure if it took place in an actual footlocker or it was a parody of a footlocker but the salesman had a referee-like TV shirt. Sinbad complained about the price. After that, she ran real fast.  The little sister’s second wish is for John to be happy. This really touches John and he hugs his sister and apologizes about being a jerk. He feels happy and thanks Sinbad who says that ‘he hadn’t done anything yet, but the wish still counts.” Another cute scene I liked. On the way home, Sinbad keeps asking what their last wishes are. John sees Teddy (Michelle’s friend from Full House/neighbor) being picked on by bullies. John looks at Sinbad, “I wish he had someone to protect him” Sinbad looks at Teddy and then at John, “I think he does.” John asks “who?” And the little sister says, “you silly.” John nodded and began walking over to the bullies. He stopped for a second and Sinbad smiled and said, “It still counts.” John stands up for Teddy and gets rid of the bullies. Teddy apologizes for earlier and John tells him he should come over at some point to hang out. Sinbad turns to the little sister and asks what her last wish is and she says “all the money.” Sinbad laughs and says, “it’s about time one of you asked for that.” “So where is it?” “You can’t wish for money, kiddo. What else?” She then wishes for Sinbad to come back and visit and he says he will. John returns and he gives them both a hug and goes back to the lamp. The little sister goes upstairs and finds $50.00 under her pillow and yells “YES.” John asks to talk to his dad and tells him that he misses him and wants to spend more time with him. His dad hugs him and promises to make time. Back in the lamp, Sinbad is back on the bed with Barbara Eden and another genie watching himself to stand-up. He says “this guy’s pretty good” or ‘this guy’s good.”

Sinbad was in SHAZAM while Shaq played in KAZAAM. I have both of those movies on VHS.

I remember it, I'm also aware it doesn't exist currently. there are several other things that I remember that are no longer the way I remember, most disgusting of which is the death of someone I knew as a child, who is now very much alive

I’m 32 (1987) and I remember the Sinbad genie movie called “Shazam” from when I was a kid. I also remembered seeing Kazam, they were two separate movies I talked about with my family members. Years later it was brought up during all the Mandela controversy and that was the first time I heard anyone questioning the existence of the film. 😂 Now this has me questioning things....

Nearly 20 years ago my husband and I argued because I wanted us to re-rent your movie, because I loved it!!!!💖, but he didn't remember watching it....he thought I was referring to Shaquille in Kazaam. Sorry, to Shaquille but you couldn't even compare the two...you were completely in your element and did a fantastic job, that's when I was introduced to who 'Sinbad' was. You were AWESOME! Incidentally, for the next 6months after my argument with my husband I went into every video store I came across looking for a copy to prove my husband wrong....but I could never find it....looks like in this reality you never made the movie!?!?! It must drive you up the wall that you're so famous for something you never claimed to have done! Looks like the universe thinks you are one of the very special people that have their own Mandela Effect...What is the Universe trying to tell you? I was born in 81 i clearly remember the movie made in 93 before the shaq genie movie kazam i worked in a thing called a movie store from 95 to 99 and we had the movie its like they pulled a book of eli on all vhs movies and maybe a pack rat has a copy but they don't have it on his wiki page which it should be before houseguest the movie with the late Phil Hartman a private investigator should see if they wipe his financial ties to the film as well like the taxes him paid on it etc

I used to have a picture book of the movie when it came out! I remember as a kid ordering from the Scholastic book orders from school and I'd always try to get the packs that came with a lot of books and extra stuff (posters, trading cards, bookmarks etc) and that's where I got the book. It's wasn't Shaq either. That movie came out later and I thought at the time "This is just a ripoff of Shazaam!" Which I thought Sinbad was more hilarious than Shaq because he came from a comedy background and Shaq's acting was just atrocious at the time. But fuck Sinbad and fuck genies. Fuck Scholastic book orders and fuck the Mandela effect and fuck this fake ass world. I know what I remember and no one can tell me otherwise. Even if no proof exists of it anywhere I know I had that stupid picture book and I know I saw the movie.

I remember seeing commercials for Sinbad’s Shazam and some time later seeing Shaq’s Kazam commercial (I didn’t watch either movie/show). I made a comment to my brother about how they already made Shazaam, why are they coming out with Kazaam with Shaq so soon after Sinbad’s Shazaam. My best imagined guess as to what happened is Shazaam never came out as a movie, maybe because of copyright issues. It was remade and Sinbad was replaced with Shaq. I can see Sinbad being pissed about it and not wanting to admit what happened, plus the attention Sinbad is getting because of it.

100% remember this too! I actually liked the movie. I was 4yrs old when it came out but didn't watch till a little later maybe 6yrs old and it wasn't bad.. This is proof of mandela effect. Our world is LITERALLY not as it seems! Stay awake my friends!

Even if they were to deny this for any reason at all, there has never been any evidence to surface that this movie exists.There is even a $5,000 bounty to anyone who can come forward with undeniable proof that this movie existed and as of yet nobody has found any. I remember seeing this movie as a kid and talked to many different people about it. I tried not to influence their answers because I wanted to see if they could truly recall it themselves. So I started the questioning by asking if they knew who Sinbad the comedian was. Most of them did. I then asked them to name any of the movies they remembered him in. Some came up with "Shazam (or Shazaam depending on how you remember it)," some asked "Didn't he play a genie at some point?" and some did not recall the movie. For those who asked if he played a genie at some point, I pressed them a bit harder trying to get them to remember the name and most of them did. For the people who couldn't recall, I tried pushing them to remember eventually just plain asking if they remember him playing a genie to which they answered that they did not. For those who could recall him playing a genie, I proceeded to ask them what they remember from the movie, mainly focusing on the attire. I had written down what I could recall and after they described everything that they could remember, I shared what I had written down with them. The similarities were uncanny. Then I asked if they wanted to hear something crazy warning them that it could potentially be life-altering. I don't believe I had anybody that not want to hear it. I then continued and told them that apparently, this movie has never existed, even though there is an abundance of people who can remember the movie and who even remember many things similarly from the movie. I tend to be a very logical individual, but I do enjoy psychology, mysteries, and looking into the unknown. Many people group this in with the theory of the Mandela Effect. While I find the theory very interesting, and even recall some things different than what they are, most of it is small stuff that could easily be explained through common mismemory. Especially when it comes to spellings. Using auditory as well as visual stimulus sometimes our minds make up their own spellings to compensate for something we believe looks like it has an odd spelling. Some I accredit to slang and other terms used to describe something so commonly, that people began thinking that was the actual name. Some I do find fairly odd and a bit hard to explain but most I believe have a logical explanation behind them. However, all of these things actually happened or existed, even if the spelling, phrase, dates, etc. are remembered incorrectly, everyone can agree that there was some event, or product that the memory is based on. However that is NOT the case with "Shazam." In this instance we have a large group of people who's "mismemory" seems to be completely fabricated. How are so many people able to recall details about this movie with absolutely nothing physical to base it on? And even more astounding, how are so many people's recollections of the details and events of the movie so similar? There is a theory that people are confusing this movie with "Kazaam," which is just utterly absurd! That would be like confusing Michael Clarke Duncan with Anthony Anderson. As a child, I distinctly remember when "Kazaam" came out and thinking it was a blatant ripoff of "Shazam." I figured they were just pulling a cash grab using basketball stars since "Space Jam" was also coming out around that time. Even when the music app came out, I was like "They got that name from the movie!" And I'll admit, I had never even heard of the superhero "Shazam" until recently. I was texting one of my good friends right after learning that "Shazam" apparently never existed and we had never spoken of the movie prior. I started off with the usual - "What's up dude? I have kind of a random question for you. Do you happen to know who Sinbad the comedian is?" He responded shortly after - "Hell yeah dude! He played a genie in 'Shazam.' And then Shaq tried to steal his thunder!" Our descriptions of clothing were almost perfectly identical as well. I believe the only difference was that I remembered a green feather in the gold turban whereas he remembered a purple feather. Oddly enough, after looking online, I found both colors being discussed as well. Some people seemed to remember purple feathers, while some seemed to remember green feathers. I could find no instances of any other color besides those two. My mom was also a person who remembered the movie and she said that she was pretty sure we had it on VHS and probably still do. But I have no idea where it would even be and she doesn't either, and besides, after reading so many stories of people looking for the movie because they swear they had it, and always coming out empty-handed, I don't have much confidence in finding it myself. To me, the only logical explanation would be that somebody is trying to cover up this movie for some reason. Some people hypothesize that the movie was so terrible that they just wanted to make it disappear and act like it never happened. But I happen to think of it fondly, and for most of my childhood, every time I saw Sinbad in something else, I always remembered him as the genie. Another possible reason to deny it would be potential lawsuits because of the comic book character that goes by the same name.And since they're making the comic book hero Shazam movie, this would seem like the most logical. But even so, somebody, somewhere should be able to produce some sort of evidence, especially after the reward of $5,000 being offered. And here we are, much later, still no evidence that this movie actually ever existed. I believe we are witnessing one of the greatest mysteries of our lifetimes.

Yeeeah. I know the movie was real because my daughter wanted to watch it at least twice a week when she was little. It was watched so many times the tape in the VCR case broke. If I'm not remembering it then neither is my grown daughter, my ex-wife or my sister, since we all watched it several times. When I heard about this Mandella effect thing and the connection to this movie I called my ex-wife. Her response was 'Oh my God. We must have watched that movie 100 times.' The thing is I remember the movie because it was so bad. It tanked in theaters and critics ripped it apart. I'm not saying the Mandella effect is real, but that movie was. Sinbad probably just wants to forget it ever happened.

I remember Shazaam. I watched it in the 90s as a kid. I'm 33 now. If the movie doesn't exist in this timeline, it definitely exist in the parallel universe I grew up in...I don't do drugs, employed, all around successful and healthy person. If I've learned one thing, it's that the universe is a miraculous and strange place. Most people are too naive and arrogant to believe in things beyond their limited understanding. In 1994 I was in his daughter's preschool class and I remember knowing her dad as Shazam the genie. It was a fact in my head. Grew up to Google it and it doesnt exist? I never watched this movie, but I know it was real. I think we had it at home when I was just a child, and I remember my father talking about it, and I know how the genie looked.

It’s hilarious because it isn’t one, or two, or three people talking about this movie. People were in elementary school, middle school, talking about this movie from time to time. There’s NOW WAY it doesn’t exist when you have that mass of people knowing of it.

I very clearly remember Sinbad playing a genie in a movie called Shazaam. I remember it coming out around the same time as Kazaam with Shaq except it was straight to VHS, it wasn’t in theaters like Kazaam. You had a lot of knock off movies back then and I even remember thinking about how Sinbad was playing the low rent version of Shaq in a genie movie when I was in Blockbuster. That movie happened, maybe not in this reality but in mine and many other people’s lives it was real. It seems funny shit like this that is just slightly off started happening when CERN began screwing with particle smashing which directly impacts entangled pairs.

Im 44 and Shazam did exist!! I saw it before Kazam came out. I remember thinking why did they make another movie with the similar name! We are not crazy, clearly Disney and those higher up wanted Shazam hidden from history!!!! But you cannot clear peoples memories.

I saw the movie and nobody can convince me otherwise! As kids, we loved the movie so much, we were all talking about it and pretending to have our own genie and stuff. I've never even seen the one with Shaquille O'Neal nor had any idea it existed! What kind of fuckery is this?!!

This movie was definitely real. I remember the song as the credits rolled.... "Genie, Genie, Genie, where are you." -children part, then adult sings, " i'm the genie for you." It was children singing the song in unison. I know I'm not crazy. My siblings remember it too.

I remember it, it went straight to the bargain bin

Its was a freaky shared dream we all had. My wife is 10 years older than me and was living in Spain when she thought she saw it and I was in New Zealand. My sister and I both remembered but after thinking long and hard we realized it was all a dream. My wife after talking to her and her realized it was a dream too. Something crazy and weird is going on with this reality.

The way Sinbad answers this makes me think there is something to this. It was all around the same time Shaq played space jam.
