Yes, my dog ate 2 MORE cross stitch projects! Ack!!
In this video, we share with you some really old cross stitch supplies that Beth inherited from her mother-in-law, including pretty silk flosses and hoops with different types of fasteners.
Later, we share a cheap way to store your flosses.
Big changes are coming to the Notorious Needle! Once I have it all nailed down, I will definitely let you know.
Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas! Blessed Yule! Happy New Year!

Great video! I'm so glad to hear you say that it wasn't your dog's fault that he ate your work. My mini-longhaired Doxie loves to get into the garbage and it's my fault if she gets into it if I leave it out when we go somewhere, not hers.
@NotoriousNeedle
@NotoriousNeedle Год назад
Exactly. Dogs only know what we (or their former owners) teach them. Still, I’m hoping his recent neuter surgery will quell some of his more destructive and dominating instincts. It’s really hard to train against or redirect a natural instinct.

I agree with you; I never blame the dog. I always say that it's my fault if I leave something where the dog can get it. Happy holidays to you and your family.

I cried for you too! Mud has gotten very lucky with you! Short of keeping doors closed (which might only make him more curious) and training school I have no ideas for you. Maybe a scent that would repel him? Like fingernail polish remover? LOL my sister uses some oil concoction in her dog for car sickness. Maybe there's something to turn him away. I dunno. Alternatively you could leave him on Debra's doorstep. (Just kidding!)

Jax’ Creative Inspirations Jackie Beechner 0 seconds ago I agree with you, Sara! I’m the human, I have 2 hands and I can put things up and away. If I don’t do those things, and the dogs get ahold of it, it’s all on ME, not the dog… love all your WIPs and so excited for next year and seeing what we do… especially next year’s SAL….
@NotoriousNeedle
@NotoriousNeedle Год назад
Hi Jax! And thanks. I feel the same, we have a responsibility to care for our pets and that means keeping them safe from themselves, too! Not sure what I’m doing for a SAL next year. I have a really cool idea for a Winter Holiday stitch. Maybe in July. 😁 I’ll probably go back to more political stuff in 2024 😉

How awesome you've given Hungarian pronunciation a go, really made my day! 👍 You've gotten my family name correct. 'Zs" we pronounce like "j" in French, like in "Je", "jardin", "jambon" etc. But pronounced like Sophia is absolutely okay of course. I was so sorry to see all the cross stitch eaten by your dog, but how cool of you having adopted him. Very nice video, thanks for sharing. Have a merry Christmas!

lovely finish, those santas look very pretty! Sorry about your dog eating your WIPs, hopefully that's going to stop soon, they keep getting away with it because they are so gosh darn cute!

Wishing you both a yuletide blessing and a Merry Christmas. And I know how you feel with Dogs eating projects. My Sister Golden Retriever has chew holes in a crochet blanket I made for my sister. So cross stitching is on hold while I repair the blanket
@NotoriousNeedle
@NotoriousNeedle Год назад
Thanks, Jo. Sorry about that blanket. Hopefully, the pooch is ok. Most textiles don’t seem to do long term harm. At least, that’s what my vet says. Blessed Yule and Merry Christmas to you, too!

That's what I do for wips.`I have two-sided boxes and 1 side is dedicated to wips and the other side is just all the rest.

I had one of those small craft boxes at one point and I gave it to my daughter and then I couldn't find another one I am so disappointed! I did however buy a pencil box at back to school time and it's about the same size just doesn't have the dividers.

“ Mercerisation is a textile finishing treatment for cellulose fabric and yarn, mainly cotton and flax, which improves dye uptake and tear strength, reduces fabric shrinkage, and imparts a silk-like luster.“

Unlike normal cotton, mercesrised thread won't shrink when washed in hot water. It's great for things that will be washed a lot or quilts. A lot of cotton sewing thread (Gutterman, Coats) is mercerised nowadays, even if it's not mentioned on the bobbin.

My dog has gone after my wips too but only ones in wooden hoops if they are in a plastic one he leaves them alone. Luckily like yours he has never eaten the metal pieces but I understand the frustration
@NotoriousNeedle
@NotoriousNeedle Год назад
Sorry about your WIPs. 😢 So far, Mud hasn’t eaten a plastic hoop. But he’s chewed other plastic things. I’m hoping getting neutered and getting a ton more exercise will help.
