Many Christian leaders try to avoid teaching anything about the last things, or "eschatology," but this element of theology is as important as any other. Christians must be taught by those called to lead that Jesus Christ has promised to come again, that he has promised to raise the bodies of the dead and to judge all mankind. The lake of fire awaits those who have rejected Christ, while a new heavens and earth awaits Christ’s people.
