I agree with @volo870 mate. Good video, but if you can get rid of the flickering and improve the colours a bit more that will be great 👍 Adjusting the zoom will also help. Games wise I had totally forgotten about Feud but I loved this game and spent many hours playing it after school. River Raid was another great game for me which I spent many hours playing to while away the evening 😃

Good stuff! The loading screen noise always takes me back! (And the horror at hearing it ‘go wrong’ and knowing you’d have to start again lol) Keep up the good work!

Heh, well done. Jon Pertwee turning up? Very funny. That was the thing about Spectrum games that no other system had or has had since. Its ENGLISH humour. Most games were made by young lads in the bedrooms, and so the shows they grew up watching influenced the games they made. I was not that impressed with your list though. Airwolf? It was so hard it was unplayable, and just not very good anyway. If you want to play some good stuff with the true English streak I was talking about try - Starquake, Arc / Nodes of Yesod, Ant Attack. Fat Worm Blows a Sparky, Thanatos, Firelord or Roller Coaster by Elite. Roller Coaster is utterly brilliant, very colourful and a huge game with lots to explore and see....you can reach the furthest areas of the park if you persist and the River Caves and Gold Mine etc are well realized as rides, despite the limitations of the Spectrum...

To be fair they were suggestions from comments on my previous video and FB page but I totally get what you mean regarding English humour in many games. Food for thought for another video! Lol. I loved John Pertwee as the doctor but I was very young when he was the Doctor on TV and may have been watching repeats. Lol. On your recommendation I'll see if I can play Roller Coaster. Sounds excellent. 🙂

The video quality is awful!.. That is why I like it. I am used to my Amstrad's +2 RGB output, which, if done right, looks pretty much like a boring emulator. What model Spectrum is it? Do you use composite output or is it RF? If (and when) you keep on - please, make the image 3:4, zoom it slightly (so there are less raster bars, but those are still there) and bump up the colors to make the images more like a CRT. 9:16 stretch is a no-no for retro community.

Sorry about the video quality. I'm not brilliant at that stuff really. I'll take your advice and look into it. It's composite but I've run it through an adapter to HDMI. As I say, I'll see if I can improve the quality. 🙂

@@RetroKevo429 No-no-no! Don't improve the quality! It was that in the 80s - we should remember it like that. Just make it 3*4 and slightly bump up the contrast and colors.

To be honest, in general I'd like to know how to improve quality etc incase I do future videos. I can do 3*4 no prob though. 🙂

@@RetroKevo429 I'm not into recording (my HDMI recording box accepts only 60fps). As a user, I am REALLY happy with original OSSC that I bought in 2017. For $130 you get all kind of RGB and YPbPr (no composite or S-Video without an unofficial $50 addon though). In any case, the thing requires a bit of tinkering and wire-juggling. I was lucky to buy a whole lot of used quality SCART extenders and soldered DIY RGB cables for most of my 8-bit and 16-bit hardware. When upscaling RGB to 1080p, the games look as if they are emulated. But, unlike emulators, there is absolutely no lag with PC monitors (it feels as you perceive images even faster than on a CRT). Games feel easier. Modern TVs have lag by design - "smart TV" is a dumb idea. If composite or S-Video and a premium feel are a must - there is RetroTINK 5X-Pro for $400 or OSSC Pro shall be sold for $350 any time now (though it is delayed for more that 2 years). P.S. Still, nicely upscaled 1080p image is boring. Please, splice in some awful composite captures for genuine feeling of 80's hardships.
