For those who don't understand the song Paul Sang is describing the love his father had for him when he was young. The father put marks on his ear, removed some teeth so that he could be recognized while he was away (in school, work or any other form of life)

I remember the time when Temugo came to my home when I was 7, he was always carrying his guitar around and I can recall him play some of the sweet old tunes. He is an underrated legend.
