As a young black kid living in the projects, a place where emotion is seen as weakness, I learned to be present with my emotions and proudly accept myself because of her fearless loving honesty.
I don't know you but I'm so happy for you. That is amazing how much she and her music touched you and made such a difference in your life. Sinead has always been one of my favorite artists because of all of the emotion she pours into every piece she sings.
Life lessons come to you in many places. Stay aware, because there is a lot of love and knowledge to be had, to pick up and carry with you. If you have not read it, pick up a copy of "The Little Prince". if you love this song, I think that children's story will resonate with you. Bless you!
I love hearing Sinead O’Connor sing Irish music. The purity of her voice, and her willingness to completely immerse herself in the emotions of a song, make her one of my all time favourites. I wish her all the Peace she couldn’t find here, and that she be surrounded by the Love that heals us all. Thank you for sharing your gift with us.🕊️🦢👼🏻🫶🏼
Songs like this, and Phil Coulter's The Shores of the Swilly, is how I will remember Sinead O'Connor. She had an incredible talent that could not be denied.
With All My Love Sinead as an Northern Irish Man from my wild Irish Heart and Our Love of Ireland may you live forever more in our Hearts & Souls ❤ Sing On Sweet Angel ☘️🤘⚔️☘️
I don’t think there’s another singer that can express such emotion as Sinead I think it’s because she doesn’t seek perfection but just sings from the heart
No one has ever sung Irish folg songs as uniquely as Sinéad. She always sounded like a ghost overlooking and telling all those stories. Absolutely ethereal.
you cannot use a word like perfection for her voice and delivery of a song, because perfection is too clinical. Organic. Etheral. Otherwordly. Omnipotentt. Those are the words to use for Sinead and her voice.
Well, Sinead was a great artist with a deep, honest, caring soul. But like many openminded, warm Whites, she fell for the rootlessness that infringed our sense of identity. Her passing and late suffering is a result of the lack of belonging while chasing for "individual freedom", which is actually isolation from who we are as part of our people, family and heritage.
One of the great things about her singing was her ability to move between soft and loud tones in a single line. That gave her singing a real and distinct quality.
You live on, beautiful Sinead in the wonderful music you made. I will do my best to encourage the new generation to listen to you and invite all your fans to do the same. My heartfelt thanks to you for enriching my life.
Her versatility was beyond compare!....From Irish celtic folk, to punk, pop and even Reggae...NO ONE could put their signature to a tune the way Sinead was able to...Very underrated and so misunderstood...Rest in Beat Beautiful one x
As a mother who also lost a young son I know the pain that probably settled in her heart. A grief unlike any others I’ve experienced in almost 70 years. When I heard she died my grieving heart felt a calmness and peace for her. It’s over, rest now.
I thought similarly. Thank heaven's I never experienced the loss of a child, but I've witnessed 2 close friends lose their son and husband. It was beyond heart breaking just to witness their agony.
When she ripped up that picture on live TV- around the same time my abuse was starting in earnest, she rose from Sister to Mother. Her voice is and will always be be in my blood. Dear Sinead, I carry you with me everywhere you've given me the courage to go. I will always love you, and will always struggle to go on.
Sinead, you ripped up that picture of the Pope because you were betrayed, as were so many of us. You were the only one spoke it out loud and exposed the abuse when so many of us were scared and beaten down, like Stockholm Syndrome. You were our voice, our hero ❤💯🙏🙏
@@Steve9357she was no longer welcome to perform in the US after tearing up the picture of the pope on SNL which she did to bring attention to priests molesting children.
I remember my first Music Appreciation class was in Kindergarten. It was Irish Folk Music ,and i've been in love with it ever since. I was placed in front of a microphone at the age of 8yrs. at on Hispanic radio station. Radio WADO. I'm 66 now and my body bears the musical scars & wounds of my guitar . They are the metals of my musical life, which i continue to wear to this day. When i heard of the passing of my beloved sister in pain and fellow artist SINEAD, i found that it's going take time process for me. I've suffered a spiritual blow & I cannot cry. Oh how I wish i'd seen her live, just to dive into her eyes or anxiously wait for her infectious smile. I am working on a song. 💔☘🥀🕶🎶🕯
Immortal song sung immortally. I wish wholeheartedly the commercial music industry had never sunk their fangs into Sinead. That was not her. This singing, this song is real Sinead. Real music. Music beyond time and all calculation. the music of, as Yeats said, eternal beauty wandering on her way. God grant her peace;Christ grant her mercy. May she sing forever in this way. And to the astonishment of angels.
This her original from heart and Irland, so nice to hear her sing this song. The voice is so strong and clear here. MAY YOUR SPIRIT AND SOUL REST IN PEACE ❤
@@sentimentaloldme with that sentiment I’ve always been amazed the British and Americans have never been charged with war crimes. I suppose it’s because they’re the ones who wrote history and also founded the international court that charges countries with war crimes. They are riddled with corruption on the highest level.
What A Tragic Loss For The Entire Planet...Thank The Universe That She Shared Her Beautiful Voice With Us, And That Her Music Lives On...Rest In Eternal Peace Dear Lady.
Well tonight i have had a night dedicated to a beautiful woman. Watching tv interviews and duets with fellow musicians. I have shed many a tear at the loss of such a talented woman. I hope she is at peace with her mother and son. RIP
I've been listening to Sinead a lot these last few days since she left us - particularly The Foggy Dew with the Chieftains. This is almost the same tune - I suppose quite a few folk songs have different lyrics to the same melody. Whatever she sang it was beautiful.😪
Oi! I'm just hearing this song for the first time! Not only was she a blessing to the Irish people but a blessing to the world with her talent and message. She will be missed. To young to soon. RIP.😢
It is so hard to comprehend that she's not here any more. But her etherial voice lives on forever and will be with me until I won't be here either. She will live on though way after that event. She is imo so much an Irish performer and always will be. From a close Celtic relative just across the water. Beautiful.
Beautiful, fragile, Intelligent, fearse, extremely talented, empathetic, funny. Our Irish warrior. Sleep, you have done so much in your short life. 🙏😘☘️💛🇮🇪💚
Now, you're an angel and you're singing in the Paradise with God!!!! God bless you, Seaned!!!! I hope you've found the peace you haven't during your life!!!!
It was with the lion and the cobra LP I fell in love with her amazing talent but more so with what she was. As girl back in the 90’ s, a teenager, she represented all I wanted to embrace: authenticity, honesty, integrity, against all cliches and, most importantly, against what the main Stream wanted us to be, and what it wanted us to believe. I saw in her rebellious nature my rebellious nature. I am so so sad she is no longer here to keep us grounded with their music and her spirited , brilliant intelligence. But I was lucky enough to have known such tremendous talent.
Sinead is an amazing human being. She feels with every ounce of her being and she funnels that into every song she writes and sings. I see you commented 2 years ago. I hope you've heard more of her music by now and have grown to love her even more. I have followed her since her beginning in music and I love her and appreciate her so very much. She is one of a kind.
sinead hope you realise how beautiful you are in mind, body & soul and your recent loss is relenting but knowing you will never be the same again after loosing your child thoughts with you always ❤️❤️❤️
I love this song as well as the musicians Sinead is amazing and I love the live version that they did in Dublin I've got it on DVD I watch it often only Celtic women&men can sing these songs Sinead is the best for me and Christy Moore 💚🌈🙏
Whenever I see and hear this ❤... it brings me to tears!!! And I think it was one of her best and most genuine songs... She so seemed to feel and express it! But of course she wrote and sang so many other GREAT, own! composed, witnessed and suffered, beautiful songs, which told us about her tragic Life❣️💔❤️ May God rest her beautiful soul in Eternal Heavenly Peace! 🙏💖 And her beloved son ❤ and all her beloved children here... Sinéad will live on forever!!! ✨🌌💖
so much more than a pop star. A real artists. I'm sadder than I've been for a long time. She was a great artist, and utterly uncompromising, as only the best can be.
Fly High Sinead 🙏🏽🕊️🤍 always love hearing her beautiful Irish voice 🍀☘️her beautiful voice was one of a kind she is so loved and missed, absolutely love the beautiful violins💚🎻🍀🎻☘️💚and all the instruments are so beautifully played and the flute 🪈 is incredible 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Ela será sempre a minha cantora favorita e a melhor. A Irlanda Sinéad O'Connor não será esquecida principalmente pelo legado lindo e incrível que nos deixou. Esteja em paz com seu menino, serei fiel as tuas canções. 🙏🕊👩👦🎶
Your hills and dales and flowery vales That lie near the Moorlough Shore Your vines that blow by borden's grove Will I ever see you more Where the primrose blows And the violet grows Where the trout and salmon play With the line and hook, delight I took To spend my youthful days Last night I went to see my love And to hear what she might say To see if she'd take pity on me Lest I might go away She said, "I love that Irish lad And he was my only joy And ever since I saw his face I've loved that soldier boy." Perhaps your soldier lad is lost Sailing over the sea of Maine Or perhaps he is gone with some other lover You may never see him again Well if my Irish lad is lost He's the one I do adore And seven years I will wait for him By the banks of the Moorlough Shore Farewell to Sinclaire's castle grand Farewell to the foggy hill Where the linen waves like bleach-ed silk And the banching stream runs still Near there I spent my youthful days But alas they are not now mine For cruelty has banished me Far away from the Moorlough Shore
Well loved Down Uñder Sinead stood for 'the little people' and the courage to voice the disgust and shame of a Church that abused so many innocent souls, God Bless Sinead.❤
How beautiful this world was made. Such angelic Souls were present between us to make our lives more harmonious.and so much chaos and darkness we allowed and welcomed instead...forgive us,Sinead..R.I.P.
