Batman has ironically been attempted to be recruited as a yellow lantern at least once. And once when he was desperate Batman bite the bullet and tried to use a Yellow Ring on the spot, only for Sinestro to show up on the spot telling him, "Oh no you didn't!"
there was at least ONE elseworld comic were batman did use a yellow lantern ring showing batman will batman he wasnt even effectivly negativly and still used it for good which makes sense as fear is a big part of him alongside will.
Batman actually was considered by a yellow power ring as one of the Sinestro Corps first members, but he was instantly rejected because he had previously worn a green power ring.
Rejected because he wore a green power ring previously? What about Sinestro? He was a Green Lantern. All is it because he is an exception because he’s the boss?
This was really insightful, and in some ways, the process of fear to civil unrest is more frightening than the intimidation itself. If the goal is peace the solution is far more difficult a path than simply applying one emotion could ever be. I imagine there's emotional intelligence, sure, but even being able to put oneself in another's shoes doesn't make order by itself.
As a Sinestro fan I thank you for gathering all the information of the Sinestro Corps and fitting it into one video. Also in Green Lantern Annual 2021 comic issues, they also had Jessica Cruz inducted into the Corps of Fear and is one of the few who uses the power of fear for noble purposes.
This was informative, and appreciated, though when it comes to powering a yellow power ring, I thought their were a few other methods to doing this as well. While certainly I do know that if one has nothing else, the personal fear of a yellow lantern ring wielder can put a few sparks of power into it, but more to the point, I thought I had read of instances where the ring could also power itself with other forms of energy like fire or electricity. Is this correct, or was the person who posted such information misinformed and the yellow ring can merely hold this power for a time in a separate compartment as it were, and then release it at a later date?
I would love to see a character who has a different interpretation of fear, and creates a new type of qualification for joining the yellow lantern corps. That instead of being chosen based on how much fear you instill in someone else, rather you are chosen by how you control your fear and manipulate it to make yourself more cautious(a type of fear) and push yourself, As well as how much respect(another type of fear) you inspire in others toward yourself. In this way it illuminates a majority of criminals being chosen and allows a gateway for more heroic yellow lanterns to flourish. This also stops one central leader from having to be responsible for everyone, And allows for individuals who have more self-respect and guidance to be accountable for themselves, or else they loose their yellow ring.
Now I enjoy watching this video. Sinestro is one of my favorite super villains. He's a very smart villain at that. Now there's some members of his Corps that I would like to see as DC MULTIVERSE action figures. The Space Ape for one. Soranik Natu his daughter is another one. I would like to see her in a Sinestro Corps uniform. As well as the Space Ape. Arkillo. As a matter of fact all of them. That would be a cool collection of DC MULTIVERSE action figures of the Sinestro Corps.
Raynunn, Space Ape and Two-Lobe would be great characters for a more heroic take on the Sinestro Corp. Since they have a more heroic reason for using their powers. It could show a way to be heroes instead of villains.
Fear controls all in the end. Every action you do is to avoid things that you fear. People are hearded like cattle even in real life by fear. It is the most powerful emotion even in real life.
8:42 bro imagine running away from a bright light and horrifying constructs, and finding yourself cornered by none other than the Sinestro Stingray (Far right) I need a plushie of the sinestro stingray
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
The Green Lanterns and the Sinestro Corps. are very similar to the Lensmen granted by the Arisians and the Edorian; the anti species to the Arisians. See "Chronicles of the Lensmen" by E.E. "Doc" Smith. Star Trek and Babylon 5 seem to take notes from Lensmen.
Not all of them have enough material to work with, if any at all. The Orange Lanterns self-destructed, for example, and we don't know much about their ways and their culture outside of them all forming factions and fighting each other for control until only one was left. The Orange Lanterns could be sustainable if they drew resources, tribute and experiences from populations and territories they protected, like a farmer sowing the field and eventually reaping their bounty, so too could the Orange lanterns find perpetual renewal in their desire to acquire. Just have populations they protect give tribute in some way or another and allow the individual lanterns to maintain their own illustrious abodes and stores of wealth and it will probably make most of them happy. Like the Sinestro Corp. however, they would need an unassailable position of leadership to keep rogues in check.
@@osvaldofranco9036 hey the original has the better history. Do you want slaves of the "Robotech masters" or do you want 40ft tall peacekeepers( and yes that's a farscape reference).
