But what the pandemic?

The USA version was released in 1990, most likely made in 1989. Probably why most of these characters weren't in it.

Yet, despite resuming their rivalry with Warner Bros. again, Disney still used their collaborative character, Roger Rabbit, since the Paris version is basically Disneyland Fun's recording from 1990 but removing _The Great Outdoors_ & _Making Memories_ for the _Alice in Wonderland_ songs & the _Pecos Bill_ number. They also added new characters since 1990 - Ariel the Little Mermaid & Prince Eric, Belle & the Beast, the cast of Aladdin, some of the Disney Afternoon characters, etc. - and added new soundbites for the speaking cartoons (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Chip & Dale, Roger Rabbit, and even sounds for characters who hadn't spoken in the original, such as Tigger's laugh and replacing Donald in the _Follow the Leader_ sequence appropriately with face character Peter Pan and giving lines to comedy villains Captain Hook & Mr. Smee). With particular regard to the _Walking Down the Middle of Main Street U.S.A_ scene, they cut up the second verse ("Tell your mother, she's not to worry, 'cause no one's rushing. There's no big hurry. You're never alone or left out in the cold, 'cause there's always someone there to pick you up."), but unlike the American version (which instead kept Mickey on piano, leaving Minnie to dance with Roger Rabbit, for some reason), Mickey & Minnie danced together, which fits better, since they ARE the alter-egos of "Uncle" Walt & his wife Lillian (and were ALSO voiced by marrieds Wayne Allwine & Russi Taylor, too), just as Oswald & Ortensia ARE the equivalent to Walt's older brother Roy O. Disney & his wife Edna. As for _Grim Grinning Ghosts_ at Phantom Manor, it's nice to see them add The Phantom & Melanie Ravenswood (who actually looks more like Beating Heart [Priscilla from Ken Anderson's initial Captain Gore omitted story plot, Emily Cavanaugh Gracey nee De Claire in _The Haunted Mansion Comic Book_ serials & the Ghost Gallery character bios/synopsis/obituaries formerly up on doombuggies.com before the 2006 refurb, Bernadette from the graveyard inside the Lonesome Manor level in Bog Easy for Epic Mickey 2, Elizabeth Henshaw in the Eddie Murphy farce film released in 2003, etc.], to be fair), but the Maleficent from the original _Disneyland Fun_ looked better, in my honest opinion, as did the American version of The Evil Queen. However, I will concede that Jafar trumps The Big Bad Wolf & Captain Hook in villainy, in comparison.

Also a lot of the footage from the 1990 one is re-edited footage from a souvenir video from 1982

In her regal queenly attire, she's seen in the turret window of her castle overlooking Snow White's Scary Adventures. But during the _Grim Grinning Ghosts_ song ft. the Disney Villains (and Donald cosplaying as a ghost), she's in her hag disguise. Comparatively, the American version is better than the French version, IMO.
