These techniques, as highlighted in the video, are essential for enhancing vocal health and overall singing performance. A big thank you to Cheryl for sharing such valuable insights on vocal care and technique! For those of you looking to build your vocal foundation you must work on improve your posture, practice breathing exercises and deep breathing by inhaling through your nose. Allowing your diaphragm to expand, and exhaling slowly through your mouth is also a game changer.

I love your videos and you're amazing, you always make my day! I hope you'll see my comment and if it's possible maybe one day make one video with advise for people with asthma and other breathing problems, my whole life I'vw been singing non stop with no problem and the last few months I got diagnosed with asthma and it's making my lfe really hard, after singing for a while my chest hurts, even after my doctor doubled my medication. I still enjoy those videos, you know how to make people happy!
You are such a generous, thoughtful and loving teacher; thank you so much for sharing your wisdom freely with us all. I very appreciate the effort and time you put into all of your videos. Thank you for being such an inspiration. Love to you from Queensland Australia xxooxx
Whoever this Olivia girl is, holy moly- i feel like you just told my story. I never connected the struggle with high note to what my chorus teacher telling me i was an alto but maybe? And maybe i am and maybe i do have the range but i always second guess those higher notes and my voice hurts after just a short while. Gonna continue watching the video now but i just had to comment that 😅
Thank you very much for supporting people who have dreams but do not have money. Thank you for everything. I love you. Yes, you are a real coach. You love to fulfill people’s dreams and you do not care about money. I love you very, very, very, very, very much.🤎🍁🧸🍄
Mrs. Cheryl, I know you often do reaction videos to others singing. I was wondering if you would do a reaction video on Diana Ankudinova singing can't help falling in love. Please and thank you.
I have pre-recorded me singing one of my favourite songs before I started lessons, it will be interesting after five days what the differences are. The song is hallelujah

(Thats what i do sing so low and sound like garbage but most ppl think im alro. In high school i was rold soprano) but i have a… raspy / breathy… deep’ish? Voice?! I hope this all helps me so far ive done a few things thatve helped me become of aware of why my mom said “ure tone deaf” (true story) Focusing on using my breath better & opening up my throat making that … oblong? 0 sound not big wide screaming O shape sound…
💨 and for 35 yrs i didnt realize singing/speaking is a BREATH exercise. My AIR power as u will. Yet i was long winded and speak Quickly think auctioneer!… or bone thugs 😂 (ok maybe nto THAT good!)
And to think if id known tbis in high school my swimming wouldve helped 😂 4 yrs of it! & i was the long haul girl.. not a speinter 😂 I sprint better now than before.. ive also learned i was “running from my legs” not my hips! … doesnt matter hwo fast the knees bend and feet hit the ground when your hips arent moving. Idk why im like this 😂 The most ld person to not be ld… Even when i first tried humming into the bottle i did it mentally and just breathed 😂 instead of actually making a humming sound. I swear! 🧠🤯
What might you recommend as a substitute for humming? My nose never works because of allergies so i just cant breathe in or out of my nose very well without force. So i cant hum most of the time. Ive finally started on immunothoerapy to help make my allergies a little better, but i think ive got sinus polyps which im not sure when im going to be able to afford surgery to remove them. Another note on allergies, any suggestions on things to clear your throat? When my allergies are bad i will have issues with singing just because of fleghm. I have to spend several minutes singing and coughing to clear it up. I hate it.
