I am from Chhattisgarh but one of my friend is from Arunachal Pradesh and he belongs to Tai Khamti community. All my life I didn't know about this festival until I came across it from my friend online. That friend of mine is very dear to me and I am writing this message for that special friend. My friend from Namsai invited me for this year's Sangken. We went early in the morning as friend's mom told us that Darshan should be done. So we arrived early at Golden Pagoda, Tengapani. We did Darshan, prayed collecting clean water in small buckets from tap provided most sides of the temple, pouring it on a dragon, to Lord Buddha, A Bandey (Monk) statue and several other figures. Then collecting the bucket we went to several jheels or pools in the area, collected water, threw water and played with people with all age and gender, old or young wishing "Happy Poi Sangken!" or "Happy Sangken!". The good thing was nobody mind. It was a joyous festival and quite memorable. Thank you to all for such a great time. Happy Poi Sangken again!🪣 💦❤☺️
I have been living away from home for the last two-three years. I miss home a lot, especially this Sanken festival. I hope that next year I will be able to celebrate the Sanken festival by staying at my home. Happy sangken to all my tai khamti brothers and sisters

Where's Assam?? We have Tai Phake and Tai Ahom, Tai Aiton,etc. here. Though Ahom doesn't celebrate this but they celebrate Bohag Bihu. And there's a day from the 7 days called "Goru Bihu" where we wash cows and play in the pond.
